South Carolina commit Tre Jackson suffered a torn ACL in his game Friday night and is out for the year.
Jackson was having an outstanding senior season and had caught five passes for 150 yards and two touchdowns for University Lab of Baton Rouge, La., on Friday night before going down with the knee injury. He also returned a punt for an 85-yard touchdown as his team earned a 47-32 win over West Feliciana.
Jackson said he expects to be back to 100 percent by March. The injury occurred when he was tackled and landed awkwardly.
He is one of two wide receivers committed to the Gamecocks for the 2016 class.
Jackson said he spoke with USC recruiting coordinator Steve Spurrier Jr. following the injury and that Spurrier wished him the best of luck in his recovery. Jackson is planning to take his official visit to South Carolina after the season.
