The Washington Post has a great read giving the details on how and why Maryland left the ACC for the Big10. Of course it comes down to money and on the last page of the article it gives the numbers that clinched the deal for the Big10.

" ...... the Big Ten projects Maryland would make $32 million in 2014-15, a huge increase from the $20 million the ACC is projected to pay out that year ....."

Hopefully we'll see a new SEC TV deal soon that includes a SEC TV network, one that will be able to pay those kind of dollars or more than the Big10. The USC Athletic Dept. already has more money than our upstate country cousins, jumping those dollars even more will leave Dilbo crying in his office every November.

The article is a good read, beyond just the dollar figures and what it means for the SEC vis-a-vis the ACC. It's a good behind the scene look at how it all went down and how the Swoff got outflanked by his buddy Delaney.
