South Carolina picked up its second commitment of the 2014 basketball class on Sunday evening when three-star wing TeMarcus Blanton (Locust Grove, Ga./Luella) committed to Frank Martin. The 6-foot-5, 190-pound prospect choose the Gamecocks over George Mason, Auburn, Arkansas and Florida State among other. Blanton's coach Reginald Johnson is on board with him joining Frank Martin's program. "We want him to stay somewhere close and we think South Carolina would be a really good fit," Johnson said. "Playing the SEC, with the competition level he'll have, it would be a real good fit for him." Blanton averaged 21 points and 10 rebounds a game last season and has a solid offensive game according to Johnson who is a native of Darlington. "He can shoot and his ability to get to the bucket is great. One thing he likes to do is go to the cup." The USC visit was the first for Blanton.
