WATCH: South Carolina WR commitment Darius Rush

Three-star wide receiver Darius Rush, the first 2018 commitment for South Carolina in the Class of 2018, put up some solid numbers last week.
In C.E. Murray High School’s 36-19 win over Oceanside Collegiate Academy, Rush caught 6 passes for 62 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also rushed 4 times for 56 yards.

Rush, who’s ranked by the 247Sports composite as the No. 209 wide receiver in the Class of 2018, is also listed as the No. 27 prospect from the state of South Carolina.
South Carolina landed his commitment over offers from Charlotte, Miami of Ohio and Old Dominion. Rush’s family has owned season tickets for the last couple of years, so the Gamecocks would have been tough to top, no matter how many offers he landed.
“Since I was a little kid, I always dreamt of playing at Williams-Brice Stadium, so being able to get the offer was huge,” Rush said. “Huge motivation, to see that my dream is actually coming true, that my plans are coming together for me to be able to play Division I football.”
Along with a number of notable prospects from the 2018, 2019 and 2020 classes, Rush will be back in Columbia this Saturday for South Carolina’s first home game of the season.
The 6-foot-2, 172-pound prospect from Kingstree, S.C. is also an accomplished track -and-field athlete with three individual state titles, two of which were in the triple jump.
