WBB GAMEDAY THREAD: 1/2 South Carolina @ 9/10 Mississippi State

Ty Harris at the FT line - she was fouled hard, but she's made 5-5 thus far.....

She misses the first FT - crap!!! Harris was 18 for 18 at the line in SEC play until that one....

Harris makes the 2nd FT - MSU calls timeout with 8 seconds left to play. Gamecocks lead 81-79.....

SC needs to foul, they only have 2 so far, and eat up some of the remaining 8 seconds.  Make State keep taking the ball out of bounds.

Well there is no disputing that our offensive game is greatly improved.  I believe that we can score points on anyone.  It's the defense I'm worried about.  We seem unable to stop the dribble drive.  Luckily, not many teams have guards that quick, but we will need to come up with a solution before the tournament.

Hate I had to work and did not get to see any of the game. Get to watch it in the morning when I get home. Really glad they pulled it together in the 4th. Miss. St. is a really good team and this is a big win. Sounds like our D had some issues but hopefully Dawn will get that fixed fast. Georgia and Ole Miss are no where near the team Miss. St. is, but we face Tenn. after them and will definitely need a strong D against them.

It was a great game to watch. We owned the 1st and 4th and Miss St. owned the 2nd and 3rd. I think that was Ty's best game in a Gamecock uniform. She was electric and amazing to watch. I loved how our seniors took over the game while the freshmen got the feel. I could see a lot of frustration from Cooke and Boston trying to get used to the intensity of the game. Some things that worked in the regular season just weren't working for them against top-notch competition but they adjusted and became a force to be reckoned with during the second half. Go Gamecocks!

I also believe this game will help us prepare for the brutal stretch of UT, Arkansas, and UConn. I believe the outcome in those games will dictate the direction of our season.

Yeah a lot of the second half was a MSU  lay up drill.  They went to the right side every single time.  We need to fix that.  Great game and great win though.

I felt like they played a good game last night but definitely weren't firing on all cylinders.  Amihere needs more time in the weight room to play her style of ball.  She looked like she was going up against a brick wall everytime she banged bodies with the other team.
