The Webb is a generational achievement.  It is an engineering marvel.  There are well over 300 events that must work or the whole thing is a bust.  If it works we will be able to see back in time to shortly after the Big Bang.  So far the Webb has been performing well.  You can keep up with its flight here: Where Is Webb? NASA/Webb

Been following this for a few months. This thing, once fully operational, will be a significant leap from the Hubble Telescope in capability / technology, Hard to believe Hubble is like 30 years old.

Webb will go way further out. It will be 4x further out then the moon orbit, and will be permanently be in Earth shadow due to being at Lagrange point 2 https://www.esa.int/Science_Exploration/Space_Science/Herschel/L2_the_second_Lagrangian_Point

What are we going to do when the telescope sends back this picture?

Telescope is fully deployed and completed its orbit insertion burn today and is now in it's final orbit. Next steps are to power on and calibrate all the instruments. That is expected to take several months.

Webb detected it's first light last week. Thought it is very fuzzy as all the mirrors have not yet been focused. It will use a nearby start to fine tune the mirror alignments and focus the instruments.

NASA Reaches Milestone With James Webb Space Telescope Mirror Calibration

Where once there were 18, now there’s just one. The James Webb Space Telescope is currently hanging in space at the Earth-Sun L2 Lagrange point, where it will remain for the remainder of its mission. Before it can get around to doing any science, NASA has to calibrate the instruments and adjust the 18 mirror segments. Initially, every segment created its own image, but NASA reports it has finished calibrating the James Webb Space Telescope’s mirrors so they all focus on the same location.

Well, folks, let me just say that I find the orange glow of the recent space images ominous and disturbing.

Yes, the Tater Death Star was destroyed last year, but a new one appears to be under construction.

We are not alone and they are among us.

I suspect they have already assumed the bodies of Tanner and some BoT members just like they did that farmer in Men In Black.

We must destroy the new Tater Death Star's core in November or face annihilation.

Be afraid...be very afraid.

Here are the 1st released images.

This is worse than a than a killer asteroid, dang it!

It's only a matter of time before they arrive to destroy our planet, or at the very minimum, dumb it down.

Danger, Will Robinson, danger!
