Well crew Bobo for OC only thing that will change is if Bobo backs out

I hope Bobo comes in and does a great job, HOWEVER, after this season, I really can not put my Garnet glasses on yet. I have looked at the schedule and am very convinced that 2020 will be even tougher year than 2019. We have to go play at LSU. I'm sorry, it is just playing the hardest schedule in the NCAA 2 years in a row, just don't give much room for a lot of hope. I got beat up really bad this year. I truly expected so much better. I will always be a Gamecock, but right now, I just have trouble trying to expect much more than 5 wins next year. And if what happened against App. St. happens again, we may even only get 4 again.

It is just really hard to be optimistic. We can only hope the new coaches manage to turn some things around in a hurry. Maybe Bobo can do that. Who knows. I really feel sorry for whoever takes that task on.

Honestly like a lot of folks I’m not sure who we could hire who would get me excited. I don’t see our HC being around long term and I think next staff will be all new

I know this is going against the grain here, but I actually think the University will give Muschamp a pass next season too, whatever the justification will be (give new OC time to ramp up, hard schedule, etc). So Bobo or whoever it really is might not be getting just a 1 year gig, especially if Tanner holds on to his job.

I think 2021 is the season that gets Muschamp and his staff fired (or saves them, but probably not).

That said, if for some reason UGA decides they want Bobo back then we ain't getting Bobo.

What about Kevin Johns from Memphis?

Boom will have to win 7 and might be saved by 6 if he loses good. Lol. Not going to define loses good. Another is the AD.

We'll see. I'm not so sure.
One more little thing that could come in to play here. There are a lot of Gamecock members going down a level and not buying season tickets till Boom is gone. Will be interesting on season ticket sales for 2020. So could be a little money crunch here too.

I do like the Mike Bobo hire. I think he’s the best Muschamp’s had. I hope Muschamp just stays back and let’s the man do his job. He can develop quarterbacks. If we get a line that can get that quarterback time to work it will be better times.

That's one mighty big "if" that's been around for a while now. I'm not so sure the offensive line is a priority for this staff, given the overall lack of progress there.

It’s a solid hire.  I think at this point Muschamp has to go with a proven commodity.  I know there are many that wanted someone a little more sexy but there is zero room for error this time.  It’s the right choice.  And kudos to Champ and Tanner to get him here.  Bobo surely could’ve had a ton of offers and choosing USC is a risky proposition for him.  They did a heck of a job selling the program to him.

The other thing I like is that it sounds like the offensive staff could potentially stay mostly intact which is huge for recruiting and continuity.  It’s a win-win.

i think our defense is in good shape and should be stable moving forward if not improving.  We can be competitive.  If Bobo can just make our offense “average” next year I think we could win 3 more games.  If we do that I think Muschamp might be here for a while.

The deal has to go to the BOT. He was in Columbia and showed his face in a public space...against advice of USC people .

I’m not thrilled a out Bobo but see it as better than any previous OC hire he has made.  I do like the fact that he runs a system that fits Hilinski and would use our current players well.  The fear I had of going to some big time guys was our guys wouldn’t fit it, even though I was leaning to a Chad Morris type of guy.

At this point, Muschamp might try to change our name to Georgia North, how many UGA guys did he bring with him and get to join him here?

I would really like to see us start adding some of our alumni interested in coaching to the football program to let them start working their way up and maybe down the line we have some coaches that are invested and loyal to our program.  Part of the problem we have is that if we do get a really good coach they will be snapped up by another program with a strong tradition.  I really wish Shawn Elliott would have worked out because I believe that guy really loved our University and would have eventually brought in guys with the same mindset, but I think it was just too early in his career to give him the reigns, but not ruling him out in the future.

I'm hoping this change with a new OC in Bobo will be a great hire for Coach Muschamp. But for our offense to get better, I think we must see some improvement in the OL. I didn't really think they played very well this year. I am a little surprised there has been no talk of Coach Muschamp making a change with the OL coach. Any improvement on the OL will help with the running game and save the QB's from injuries. Disappointing season, but hoping the future will be better.  Go Gamecocks!  Go LSU, Go Buckeyes, Go Sooners. lol

I'm hoping that with Bobo taking over, that he will simplify the offense so the blocking schemes will be simpler, and hopefully make the OL look like it has improved by leaps and bounds.
