Which linebackers could land with Gamecocks in 2019
March 02, 2018
The 2019 South Carolina recruiting class, Muschamp’s fourth group with the Gamecocks, currently includes six commitments, two of whom are committed to play on offense.
Let's takes a look at the linebacker targets who could eventually join them in the Gamecocks 2019 haul.
Current South Carolina linebackers:
Gee, who was South Carolina’s first 2019 commitment, announced his de-commitment from the Gamecocks earlier this month. It remains to be seen if there’s still any interest from either party. Generally, when there’s a de-commitment, both sides go their separate ways.
But there’s no shortage on potential replacements in the Gamecocks’ haul. A couple of them are also from South Georgia: Deloach and Pettway.
South Carolina got in on the ground floor with Deloach, who’s now rated among the top linebackers in the country, to go along with a very strong offer sheet. The Gamecocks are Pettway’s lone Power 5 offer, but his profile continues to grow.
Wilkins visited in February with several of his teammates from Stephenson High School.
On Wednesday night, Boykins landed his offer from South Carolina while taking an unofficial visit. Duke, East Carolina, North Carolina State and North Carolina have also offered.
