Honestly it was about what I expected. Could have been better, could have been a lot worse. we have a lot of things to work on. But there are things to work from, which is important. 

The refs made some questionable calls, but in the end would not have made a difference in th eoutcome.

Our Dbs don’t or can’t tackle, period.  

Years ago, they used to teach us to sit and wait for the open field runner to commit to his cut/shift. It was considered better to get just a piece of him than have total whiff. We have to teach our guys to hit and wrap at the waist or legs and hold on. There is something missing in the coaching. This is fundamentals.

Biggest disappointment to this season is defense.  I thought they would be much better but they look identical to last years defense.   Our OL is disappointing too.  Rico got 100 mostly on his own and is impressive.  But makes you wonder where he would be with a little better blocking.  

Biggest take away is that we are a better team with a true freshman QB and that makes me wonder why there hasn’t been a QB battle at S.C. in the last 3 years.  Hilinski and Joiner shouldn’t have been battling one another for backup spots in spring and fall camp.  That should’ve been a three man race

Speaking of Joyner. Where was he this game?  I thought we would see him in a least a few wildcat type situations. Coach was talking about how he needs to be more involved in the games. But we barely saw him as reciever today. I think he had one catch.
