Ray Tanner has so far ruined our baseball program, failed to orchestrate a plan for life after Steve Spurrier and ignored a thoroughly damaging remark by Spurrier which will hurt our program over the long run, and deliberately publicly humiliated and alienated our Head Basketball Coach, Frank Martin, by suspending him for a game for saying a few cuss words while every other notable basketball coach does the same thing with no repercussions whatsoever. Thank goodness, so far Martin has let that incident roll off his back. I wouldn't blame him if he jumped on the first good opportunity to get out of here after that.
So now Tanner has the ability to right a wrong. It's is patently obvious that Martin has worked tirelessly to bring this program to the brink of huge success. Surely no one could dispute his tireless work ethic resulting in perhaps the best recruiting class since Roche and Owens and may end up with 2 centers, a power forward, and three excellent wing players. EXTEND MARTIN'S CONTRACT NOW, TANNER! Lock him in for us for the long term. He is one of the absolute best coaches, if not THE best, in the entire country.
For once, do SOMETHING good for Gamecock Athletics. We don't need to lose Frank Martin. You're probably not man enough to go and apologize to him for throwing him under the bus, but maybe if you would get his contract extended, it would serve the same purpose and we can enjoy having a great mens basketball program for years to come.
