Will Muschamp surprises South Carolina football with Waffle House food
Feb. 24, 2017
South Carolina football has had a long few weeks of strength and conditioning training through its offseason program.
On Friday, coach Will Muschamp walked into the meeting room filled with players to start the final day of conditioning before spring practice begins Saturday. Only Muschamp had a surprise for his players. Instead of running, they would be headed upstairs at Williams-Brice Stadium to dig into food from Waffle House.
Muschamp began by asking senior linebacker Bryson Allen-Williams which conditioning workout he would prefer, to which Allen-Williams said, “Neither.” That was Muschamp’s plan all along, as he told his players they could either run 1 of 2 workouts or “we can go upstairs and eat Waffle House” as he put on a Waffle House hat.
The Gamecocks were excited to avoid the conditioning drills they rolled through for weeks, but even more excited that the alternative involved Waffle House food.
