They pass block a lot better than they run block. Shell''s feet are slow and he gets beat a lot on the edge........

A good question, but not one I can predict. I don't think, despite all the youth and inexperience, that some of USC's run game blocking struggles last season could have been foreseen either. The youth isn't an excuse, Shawn Elliott certainly wouldn't make that one, but the fact is some fans had unrealistic expectations with the group last season for reasons I don't know. There was a very experienced guy at center in Johnson and someone with moderate experience in Cann, but the other guys had never started for USC. Two tackles and a right guard had not started and only Patrick saw a measurable amount of game experience. Robinson and Shell worked with Cann in winter workouts and had a great winter workout program. Cann looks great.. I think it will be a group that improves in all areas this season, but I don't think you should expect a dominant group or anything like that.

Shell's feet are not slow at all in my opinion. The guys' a former high school hoops player and vertical jumped 36 inches in the offseason, he's a good athlete - he just doesn't always play with the best technique and that gets him in trouble. Something that will come with more reps.

As for Waldrop, I've been at all the practices and I think I've counted two bad snaps. One was mishandled by the QB. He's a youngster as well and will have some growing pains, but could end up being a four-year starter.
