With Joyner locked in, five in-state targets USC should go after
June 20, 2017
Now that Fort Dorchester quarterback Dakereon Joyner has committed to South Carolina, here are five other in-state prospects the Gamecocks could surround him with. Joyner also says he hopes to flip the nation’s No. 1 recruit, Xavier Thomas from Florence, who has committed to Clemson.
1. Channing Tindall
Spring Valley, LB, 6-2/213
The No. 3 prospect in S.C., according to 247Sports, and is in the top 300 nationally by ESPN, Scout and 247Sports.
2. Stephon Wynn
IMG Academy, DE, 6-4/279
From S.C., but like Thomas is playing his senior season at IMG in Florida. Momentum seems to be shifting toward USC.
3. Bryce Thompson
Dutch Fork, WR/DB, 5-11/180
Transferred back to Dutch Fork after couple of seasons at Ben Lippen. Recently decommitted from Virginia Tech.
4. Raiqwon O'Neal
Camden, OL, 6-5/265
Has recent offers from USC, Penn State and Michigan, as well as others. He says USC is “up there” among his leaders.
5. Steven Gilmore
South Pointe, DB, 5-9/152
Brother of former USC and current New England Patriots player, Stephon, Steven is making a name for himself at DB.
