WR Josh Vann of Tucker, GA will spend this weekend in Columbia with his family seeking more clarity with his decision which is down to the Gamecocks and Georgia.  He was at Georgia last weekend so the Gamecocks will get their chance this weekend to spin Vann  back in their direction. Vann is coming in Friday for the Will Muschamp camp and will stay over Saturday for the prospect social event.

“I want to have the opportunity to do what the players do,” Vann said regarding what he wants to experience this weekend.  “Some of the activities they do on a regular basis would be cool.  I feel like I know enough about them.  It’s a great school.  I’ve got everything down what I need to know.”

Vann said his visit to Georgia last weekend also was an overnight trip and he hung out with the players. And as he gets closer to his decision,  Georgia’s appeal to him to stay home and represent his state is growing stronger, and he said that does affect his thinking.

“It does a lot because it’s the hometown team and it’s not that far from home and its an easy way for my parents to get up there,” he said.  “South Carolina is not that far but I guess for the hometown it would be great to have my name being called for the home team.”

Vann said both schools are recruiting him with the same level of intensity and he’s in contact with each a lot.  And he can’t pinpoint a leader at this point.

“I think it’s kind of like 50-50 now,” Vann said.  “It was back and forth.  It was with Georgia, then South Carolina, then Georgia and then South Carolina.  I’ve been to both schools the same amount of time.  This will be my third time down to South Carolina and last weekend that was my third time down there (Georgia).  Everything is kind of like 50-50 at this point.  It will be tough to choose one.”

Vann does not have a specific date for an announcement but he might have one just before his season starts and if now then a couple of weeks into the season.
