“Coach McClendon, me and him been knowing every since I was an upcoming freshmen when he was at Georgia,” Johnson said. “Me and him already got that type of relationship. And then Coach Muschamp is a very good coach.”
USC had great success a few years ago with a tall receiver in Alshon Jeffery and the Gamecocks like they have more of the same in sophomore Bryan Edwards. Johnson will give them another tall target for their quarterbacks.
“A big target and we’ll just be spreading it around to open it up for the running game,” Johnson said. “I just like being physical and making plays.”
Last season Johnson had 32 catches for 822 yards and 13 touchdowns. And he doesn’t have to change out any of his tee-shirts. Johnson plays for the Screven County Gamecocks.
He gives the Gamecocks 14 commitments for the 2018 class.
