We actually lead in time of possession thus far, just slightly. ECU's lone score came on a big single play. We just have to keep trying to figure out things, and clean up the lack of discipline......
DAMN!!! A fumbled pass reception by Joyner. Pirates now DEEP into Gamecocks red zone. We're just not very disciplined.....
Are you kidding me! No way! Go, Gamecocks! Win, anyway!
Our defense has played well. But our offensive miscues will start wearing on the confidence of the defense, and we will get bulldozed.......
It's still 7-0. Gotta hold them here!

That fumble was a BS call, but it really should not come down to that we should able to establish a damn run against this defense. App state ran all over them

Major turn! Defense has played big. Let's have some serious offensive adjustments and take this game back!! Go Cocks!!
East Carolina leads 14-7 at the half. We'll need to clean up the mistakes and turnovers, and find a passing game. They will stack the box against our run game, and continue to try to shut that down. Pretty much ALL our opponents will try that until we present a competitive passing game.
Our defense has pretty much answered the call. Minus that opening 75-yard TD play, we've shut them down to only 106 total yards, 35 passing yds, and only 1 more TD. Their QB Ahlers is only 4-10 for 35 yds, 0 TDs and 2 INTs, and has already been sacked 4 times in the game. We can contain their offense, but our own offense has been our own worst enemy, helping out ECU with the turnovers, plus the fouls are horrible.
Hopefully the staff calms down the team and makes the necessary adjustments, and the defense continues to play well after halftime....

2nd half begins - the Gamecocks receive the ball. Joyner has a solid return to the SC 30, but after picking up a 1st down the offense stalls on incomplete passes from Noland. We punt the ball away.

Big pass play by Noland to Vann for 45 yards to open the possession, to get a 1st down at the ECU 27. Juju McDowell who has had some strong gains runs for 4 yards to the ECU 23. Then Noland THROWS TO VANN FOR THE TOUCHDOWN!! The extra point would tie the game, but the score is under review....
Play was overturned....CRAP!! We're not getting a single thing in this game. 3rd and 6 now. Next pass play to Vann is incomplete, but a pass interference is called on the Pirates! 1st and 10 now at the ECU 13 yd line.
About time there was a penalty on ECU. Prior to that they only had 2 flags for 5 total yds, while we have 7 for 50 yds.
...and now ANOTHER flag on us, for false start on Harris. Geez......
Zeb passes 13 yards to Dak Joyner for TOUCHDOWN!!! Wait a minute....wait a minute....look for a flag on the ground. There HAS to be a penalty on us. THERE HAS TO BE!! THERE IS NONE! THIS TIME IT WILL COUNT!!

Now ECU is gashing us on the ground, all of a sudden....our defense has relaxed at the worst possible time.....
2nd and 5 at the SC 17. Then a rush for a loss of 1 yd, then AHLERS IS SACKED BY BRAD JOHNSON!! 8-yd loss makes it 4th and 14! But they are in field goal range.....

CRAP!! ECU completes a 14-yd pass play to gain the 1st down on 4th down. They convert a 4th and 14 on us. We even had a defensive offisdes penalty on us, but that was declined. ECU has 1st and 10 on the SC 12-yd line.
So now our defense is just going to lay down, after they were so strong all game long, after we tie the score up

The Pirates hit the FG, and reclaim the lead. 17-14 with 8:36 to play......
Kick-off is to the USC 4, Juju takes it, and RUNS IT 63 YARDS TO THE ECU 22!!! We have a chance here!!!
