***2021 OFFICIAL GAME-DAY THREAD GAME #2: SOUTH CAROLINA AT EAST CAROLINA***

We don't gain much after that, but Parker White's 39-yd FG is GOOD! Game is tied again 17-17 with 6:46 to play. NOW our defense needs to step up and not lay down like they did the previous possession......

Defense forces ECU to punt. Strong drives from McDowell and Harris gets the Gamecocks into Pirates territory. Juju is tearing up major runs! We're down to the ECU 19, 1st and 10!! A rush for no gain by Juju has it 2nd and 10 at the 19. The Pirates take a timeout. There is 37 seconds left in regulation.

We're easily in field goal range now - it would be a 36-yarder - but Todd Ellis just stated that Parker is dealing with a groin injury. He has already kicked a 39-yarder to tie the game last, so he seems good to go for this one....

Parker White goes for the kick - it's officially for 36 yds. IT'S GOOD!! GAMECOCKS TAKE THE LEAD AS THE GAME CLOCK EXPIRES!!! THE GAMECOCKS WIN!!!

Gamecocks win 20-17, to go to 2-0 on the season!!

LOTS AND LOTS to work on this coming week for UGA. But we've now tied our total wins for last season, in just 2 games.....

I grabbed some Bud Light after cutting the grass this morning.  Almost decided to get sloshed after the first half, but thought better of it.

Upperclassmen Demani Staley and Parker White won this game today along with the defense.

Shane was pretty hot in the 107.5 interview going into the locker room at halftime, so I know he will address the crap we saw today.

The WatchESPN app crapped out on me in the second half, so I just listened to game on the radio.

A dual-threat QB like Doty might have shook ECU up enough to make a difference, so I assume Doty is still not good enough to go for Shane and Satt.

I am sure I will need the rest of the beer that's left for the UGA game now.  LOL

Parker White had a slight groin issue keep under raps by the staff. Man just happy about the win and the D. Offense still an area of concern. Hoping Doty can help the O can step up better.

Our O-line has got to get much, much better and we have to get someone consistent at QB to win against decent teams.  The refs really chapped my ass today though with some really bad calls.  I am not sure if they have been told to throw the flag at the least hint of a targeting hit and to just figure it out afterwards or if they just sucked that bad.  I know that I have seen a ton of targeting calls in just the first 2 weeks of the season during all the games that I have watched but they have to figure this crap out and get it right!  GO COCKS!!!

Shane's PG presser is pretty funny with all the activity going on in the background, i.e., introducing Frank to Zeb.  LOL

My takeaway is we won because Shane and his staff decided to exploit our running back depth and then JuJu had the hot hand that they stayed with.

To me, that answers the questions about game management and decision-making.

I also think Shane is right about Demani's pick possibly being the turning point play of the season down the road.

Just now finished watching the game. Was busy all day with other things. Wow. Did not play well, particularly in the 1st half. But found a way to win. 2-0. I'll take it.

Next week will be tough. But never say never.

I just rewatched the Joyner non-fumble.  How was that defender not called for targeting?  He clearly launched with his head down.  He also tried to leg whip Joyner as well.  Terrible officiating in this game.

They sure had no trouble calling targeting on us.

I just wonder if most of our penalties were a result of some trash-talking during the game from the Pirates.

Muse drove that guy into the ground 10 feet outside of the sideline.

On the one hand things like that look stupid and undisciplined, but on the other the player is just reacting to the intimidation that happens during a game.

If their trash talking get's you to make stupid unsportsmanlike penalties, that is on you. They win that battle. Gotta handle it better then making stupid penalties.
