No...hugo did not go into the gulf and made initial US landfall in SC
Tropical storm force winds of 39-73 MPH for most of us as the forecasts stands now.

Came out of it with minor tree debris and that was it.
Ended up a lot closer to Raleigh then projected. We had sevreral power blips and winds to knock down tree branches, but nothing too severe.
Over 100 deaths in Florida and NC from the storm.

Similar with people hiking in 100+ degree heat in the desert. They assume bringing enough water is all they need. They have no respect for heat exhaustion.
