New coach coaching staff

Rumor: Beamer to open the wallet, make $2.1m/yr offer to Joe Brady to make him highest paid OC in the conference .... TIFWIW

I hope I'm wrong but don't think Brady is happening. He could be the head coach of just about any college team and possibly multiple NFL teams.  No reason to make a lateral position move to a lower level at this point.

Have to agree don’t see that happening.

Both? If a boss sees deficiencies in a subordinate and fails to correct them/teach them up, the fail falls on both IMO.
I agree that it was both. If it was all Muschamp, the D should have been a lot better after he was gone.

I can tell you as a fact that Coach Beamer has the check book and can right numbers as he sees fit.

Brady is certainly an interesting target, and I hope that Beamer has some inside information on a salary number that would do the job, but I doubt $2.1 million would get it done.  I looked for his Panther salary information, but was unable to find it.  However, just prior to leaving LSU for the Panthers, Brady had signed a contract extension for 3 years at $1 million annually.  So if we accept that he got an increase on that baseline by moving to the Panthers, the upward cap for NFL OC appear to be the Patriot's Josh McDaniel who is rumored to be the highest paid NFL OC at $4 million/year.

So I'm just guessing that Brady is currently getting paid at least $1.5 million currently.

But who knows, certainly an interesting rumor to add to the mill.  There is no question the LSU offense certainly turned around the year he was there -- how much was him or the talents of Joe Burrow, who knows.  No question they had a great passing game.

There seem to be specifics there as opposed to “I heard Joe Brady’s name mentioned,” which is a bit more intriguing than a random name drop.

I do hope you are correct, but most of what I have heard Brady's name bounced around involved a head coach candidate in the NFL and I really thought that was his goal, but not sure.  After watching the Panthers for the entire year, every game, here is what I've learned about Brady.  He learned under Sean Payton, an offensive genius in my mind.  He definitely understands offense and how to get receivers open for easy completions.  You can look at Bridgewater's completion percentage and it is very good.  He also shows some originality in his play calling with some interesting wrinkles.  The only knock I have and it is not a big one is that he tries to get too cute at times, but I believe he could get away with these things in college, but the pros not so much and I think he will learn this as he moves forward.  He has made a few really bad calls that have hurt in close games, but again I think it is just the learning curve from what he was able to do in college to the pro level.   He has had really accurate quarterbacks with Burrow and now Bridgewater.  I do believe his play calling helps with some of that with easy passes, but I also think both of those guys are really accurate.

Staggs, seems like would be the most logical choice here, but who knows, put Foster is as some type of analyst maybe just throwing an name out . I have not heard a word on Derick Mason, really like him for D.C.

I have heard briefly on the panthers call in show up here, that Brady is staying put, I don't think they really know just repeating what I have  heard on their show which should be back on tonight in the Charlotte area 107.1

Joe Brady is I think 31?  So he's really young and not sure an NFL ready HC candidate.  Only Sean McVay would be a younger NFL HC and candidly, McVay had more experience at the time he was hired by the Rams.  Still, that does not mean Joe Brady would come here and even if he did, how long would he stay?  Three years max?  Still, would be fun to see what he could do with Doty, Hillinski, Stockton, etc......  At the very least, hopefully someone on the staff would absorb his playbook.

agreed. What I liked was that even if he didn't come it was an illustration of who he is looking for and how much he is willing to pay, if true.

Would love to see Darian Stewart on Shane's staff!
