Coach Shane Beamer's press conference:

Thanks for posting, Conway.  By the way, I'm embarrassed to admit that I just now noticed that your avatar was an actual Gamecock.  Previously, I was just seeing flames.  Yes...I'm an idiot.

LOLOL - I thought I was the only one ... just made the connection yesterday. Gamecock Rorsach (sp?) test?

Watching the interview, you can see how Shane would do well in a job interview.

Impressed with what he had to say about Zeb (and Jason too actually). But it's hard not to imagine Zeb not being the guy if Luke can't go.

Shane is sooooo impressive to me. I can see why Ray just thought, "this is our guy." The ONE thing I am most interested in seeing from him this season - and we all know he will have plenty of opportunity - is to see how his demeanor changes when we lose. And when we are on a losing streak and he has to talk to the media after 3, 4 losses in a row. Not that I think he will handle it poorly, because I don't - just to see what happens to that relentless cheer and how/if it turns to fire.

If Harris can get through this week's practices without soreness or inflammation in his back, and is cleared for contact next week no later than Wednesday, and THEN doesn't have soreness or inflammation after that, he could be cleared for Eastern Illinois. At least for some limited snaps, as we'll have plenty of options at RB ready to go for that game. But they need to take it slowly and carefully - back issues are the same as hamstring issues: they can be tricky and if there is a setback, it could impact the entire season for Kevin.....

I agree.  This is not the position of most concern for us IMO.  We need to make sure he is fully healthy and in game shape.

I would prefer to rest KH.  I hope we can beat Eastern Il without him.
Should not be an issue without him.  He and Doty should not play till the are absolutely 100% .  Our backups should be more than than capable of  handling these first 2 games.  How about Rashad Amos in the RB room, haven't heard about him.

I guess this concludes the 2021 football fall camp thread. There are still 4 more practices left to hold, beginning with tomorrow, but they should be focused more on pre-game prep for Eastern Illinois. For more information and discussion regarding our season-opening game, please refer to the Game Week #1 Discussion Thread, also in the Gamecock Pigskin Forum. Of course, feel free also to post here if you still have fall camp discussion, player updates, etc. to share. I guess after this Saturday's game I'll un-pin this thread, as the season will be moving along by that time. Thanks for all discussions and input, by the way!! :wink02:
