Imma start this early to prime the pump and get us going on the football discussion.  Someone else can do the rest of the other games if they want to.

Location:  Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, SC

Kick-off:  7:30 pm EST

TV:  SEC Network

Broadcast Team:  Taylor Zarzour (play-by-play), Matt Stinchcomb (analyst) and Alyssa Lang (sidelines).

Radio:  107.5 The Game

We know who Alyssa Lang will be routing for!

I am not sure what to make of us. I think this game will be sloppy from both sides. I hope we can pull it together, but I see us losing a close one. Our lack of experienced playmakers on the offense will hurt.

Feels weird to start the season with UT. We usually play them much later in the season. But everything is different this year.

I agree.  Then we have UGA in the next to last game.  Imagine having to play Clemson right after UGA in normal times.

The broadcasters for the Cowboys/Rams game last Sunday night said they had the same expectations going into that game, but they admitted football itself was actually very good and they were right.

I think leading off with an SEC opponent from the gitgo instead of a non-conference gimme one will make everybody ramp up their play beginning with Game 1.  Unfortunately, it also does the same for the Vols as well.

The only bad thing may be the lack of real crowd noise will make it easier for an opponent to hear signals and adjustments.

I personally for the longest time have wanted things to go back to having a QB call plays in the huddle instead everyone looking at the different coaches on the sidelines for the plays.

Looks like the Vols open up as 3.5 road favorites. The bookies typically give an unspoken 3-point cushion to the home team for home game advantage, but since there will be a small crowd at the game, I don't know if that has any impact, or if the Vols playing on another opponent's home field under such surreal circumstances will help or hurt us or them.......

It pains me to say it (I hate UT almost as much as tater tech) but I see a 27 - 13 ass whipping coming.  I have zero faith in Muschamp.  I hope and pray that I'm wrong.

I normally know all about us and our opponents by now, but not this year. UT is pretty unknown (Guarantano still around at QB?).

But I will say this. Boom has us more talented and deeper than we have been in past years, and we would have had a better record last year if Bentley had been our starting QB. Seeing that Hilinski is still not ready to be the man, having a plug 'n play veteran like Hill could make a difference.

Covid and injuries are a problem, but that will be true for UT as well. Boom does not get a pass this year - he needs to step up or step out. The buy-out is dropping every year and we can get a deal on a talented coach from a lower level right now.

I like Boom but 4-8 - in his fourth year - is not acceptable. Neither is dropping the win total in each of the last two years. My thought is that we need at least .500 or it is time to move on.
Yeah, I know.

The Vols coach, not Kirby Smart but the other guy from Bama whose name I can never remember, is already blamin' stuff on covid.

So maybe we might just have a chance this Saturday.   :gamecocks:

Why so serious?  You ain't skeered, are ya'?

Like I stated earlier, I have zero faith in Muschamp getting it done.  This is the same Coach that couldn't muster a single damn point against a mediocre Virginia team and couldn't beat a first year Coach starting a freshman QB in his first ever college game (UNC).
