Shane's staff: Let's fill in the blanks as we go

The players are rebelling against Bobo, they don't like the guy. Get rid of his ass, and sign somebody with some new ideas.
For the record, he had new ideas, they got us an SEC rushing title. He’s also the most respected playcaller here since SOS.

So no one knows if Mike Bobo is going to be the OC? He's also a QB coach.

Des Kitchings is a terrific RB coach...been producing 1,000 yard rushers for years...with and without Mike Bobo

Where does Shaw fit in?

Are these guys being retained because of their contracts and needing to save a few bucks because of Muschamps buy out?

I think the speculation was he was going to resume his off-the-field job?

Bobo was going to get paid next year whether he worked or not because he was on a guarantee.

I appreciate taking time to fill out the staff, but it sounds like there's some bad apples on the remaining staff, time to cut ties, put coaches in place before the rot spreads.

You don’t know that, so why say it?
It was reported by Mike Uva and has been repeated on GCC that there was a closed door players only meeting with a few of the players voicing anti Bobo sentiment, Tanner got involved and it was part (albeit a small piece) of why they opted out of the bowl.

It looks like Peterson, Rocker and Bobo will stick around - none of them have been coaching here for long, so hopefully they are not tainted. Guys like TRob and BMac have been with Boom for a while and got promotions from him - I expect they would be at the top of the list as coaches with bad attitudes.
Bobo is the coach that the players took issue with, if you believe the posters on GCC it was not defensive players.

This situation may still be lingering. I'm just speculating. Seems if there was any hint that this is an issue, Mike should be moved to an admin job.

They said that loss of trust continued when Parker failed to address player and staff complaints involving Bobo, whom they accused of making racially insensitive comments and verbally harassing assistant coaches, players and staff during his five years. Parker negotiated a $1.825 million buyout of Bobo, who went 28-35, after the 2019 season.

One of my best friends from HS is a CSU alum and huge CSU fan ... and not a fan of Bob's tenure as HC there. But he was the first to tell me that he didn't feel there was anything to the racial stuff there. All these kids were recruited by champ, and he just got fired. I think this is just part of the dust settling.

Footballscoop is saying that Beamer is targeting an SEC DC for the same role here.

Kevin Steele?
That was my first thought when Auburn hired the Boise State HC as their new HC.

It would allow Beamer to only manage an experienced SEC DC's personality instead of micromanaging someone who's never been an SEC DC before.

Then just let Steele evaluate the players and staff as he would normally do as a veteran DC.

A couple of other names that have popped up recently are Torrian Gray (DB Coach @ UF) and Travis Williams (LB coach @ AU).

Pete Lembo as well.  Memphis assistant head coach/special teams coordinator, in similar role.

The staff

Based on Rumors and Some Inside information Beamer’s Staff could look like this

HC - Beamer
OC/QB - Mike Bobo
RB- Kitchings
TE- Kimrey
OL- Will Friend
WR- Aaron Moorehead
DC- Kevin Steele or Derek Mason
OLB/Buck- Mike P
LB- Travis Williams or ???
DB- Torian Gray

Steele was making the pitch to bring in Bobo as OC at Auburn if he were to be hired as Malzahn's replacement.

Steele would dovetail better with us from that standpoint if Bobo is going to be retained.

Moorhead would be an impressive hire, as we would be pulling him from a similar position with my beloved Philadelphia Eagles; was with Vandy prior to that.
