The beginning of the end of the Beamer era?

Once again this is about calling for Beamer to be replaced by a guy who lost to 1-6 Kennesaw St...about you giving respect to that coach and not being able to see how ridiculous that is while calling our team mediocre and continue to trash the Offensive Coordinator because you you want to be right, you want the masses to follow you down the street with pitchforks and torches calling for Beamer to be fired, for the OC to be fired, for the team to be mediocre no matter what happens the rest of the year because your opinion is jaded!
Sorry my friend, I will talk stats and personnel after the season but we will probably not agree then either. Spurrier won with defense... similar to the trajectory this team is on, very similar!
Now you’re putting words in my mouth. Nice!

No one knows for sure how Beamer will do in the long term. Only time will tell. I hope he succeeds.

The only thing we know for sure is the firing a coach every 4-5 years is a recipe for mediocrity. See Tennessee after Fulmer. Even Bama was in the same boat before they were able to land Saban.

So, you don’t have any evidence as to how a failed nfl OC whose offense currently ranks 103 in the nation should be retained. Thanks for clearing that up. Every coach loses games, care to compare beamers record vs chadwells?

I’ve said multiple times that Beamer can succeed, he needs to ditch the anchor of hiring demonstrably bad OC’s and hire a home run OC. One of the allures of Chadwell is that he brings an offensive system with him. (Last HC we had that brought an offensive system was spurrier, worked out pretty well for us).

Let’s see how the season plays out, but from reading multiple boards, I know I’m not the only person who shares these sentiments.
You're correct. We're near the bottom of the SEC as well as the nation in pretty much any offensive stats a person wants to look at. That has to improve, the defense can't be expected to win every game. The stats don't lie nor do they have opinions.

I don’t get why people act like beating a 4-4 Oklahoma program or beating up on 3-5 Kentucky squad is absolves the awful offensive performance we’ve had this season. The truth is, that we have not beaten a team this year with a winning record. ODU is 4-4, Akron is 2-6.

Hopefully the team shows up after the by week (beamers teams seem to struggle after the by) and take down a now top 10 program. But as of now, there’s no signature win on the season.

Yeah this game will tell us a lot and I don't mean we have to win. Will the offense take a step forward or will it continue to be a series of head scratching play calls, unforced errors and 3 and outs.

If we have multiple drives that are not run for 1 yard, run a zone read for a gain of 2-3 and then on 3rd and long run a passing tree where the receiver is a yard or 2 short I might reconsider.

Interesting article from an outsider perspective.
Dude thinks we play in College Station, you write an entire article about the football team and don't know the location of the next game, are to lazy to look up the location of the next game... can't even remember anything else about the article except the author was to lazy to look up the location of the next game....WOW, we do need to finish strong, just like everyone else! Cliche...

Went back and read it... Makes good points and sense, the culture is to play to win, that is the culture and the remaining portion of this season is very important! Every game is important but none more important than the next, play to win that game is the culture! Win it ugly, win it pretty but win it together, that is the culture!
Overly questioning decisions and threatening coaches jobs, looking toward next season before this season is over or the last game before the next game is not a winning culture, not the 12th man culture to help get that next 5*, to finish a season strong, to maybe, just maybe give just that little bit of help to make that close loss a win. because the crowd kept momentum despite being down and fought to win even if it was ugly!
GO GAMECOCKS FIGHT WIN KICK ASS!!!

Back in 2022, when we lost to Missouri, you could tell Beamer was upset with the way things went. The next week we just got by Vanderbilt. A week later we got stomped by Florida. Beamer was very upset. He did not say publicly who, how, or why, but he said things were going to change.
The next week we saw an entirely different game plan. All different plays being called and we killed Tenn. I truly believe Beamer had made Satterfield change his game plan. A week later we beat Clemson. Again, a different game plan than we had used earlier. When we played Notre Dame, we had lost a lot of talent and, sadly we saw some of that old game plan again. A week later Satterfield announced he was leaving but he was probably gone either way after calling those plays again in the bowl game.
I say, give Loggains a chance, He is working with a young redshirt freshman. I think once Sellers, and the receivers, and the OL comes along a little more, you will see Loggains try new game plans. He has to wait on the players before he can do so much. I bet after this bye week break; we will see some new stuff Saturday.
But I am also sure, if Beamer is unhappy, he will fix it like he did with Satterfield. Beamer truly is becoming a very good HC. Look how things have gone with the D since late last season.

You tear the team you pull for down like a tater, say nothing but negatives and take shots at the coaches every chance you get! Your don't wear Garnet Glasses but have no problem putting on orange glasses and pissing down a Gamecocks leg because that is your agenda, you want to be right about the coach, deep in your sub consciousness you would rather the Gamecocks fail and you be right than have to pull for a coach you said couldn't win, wasn't the guy for the job! Meanwhile you blow the horn and brag for a coach that lost to Kinnesaw St, only see the positives about him, brag about the OC for jawja and how he is on fire despite sticking with a QB that threw 3 picks and relying on Defense to force turnovers and give them a short field to beat texas... they had 2 drives of more than 35yds the entire game!

Did I hurt your little feelings with facts? Was anything I said wrong? Your back to personal attacks so ignore list for you.

How long does it take for the Oline to improve? Are they not all (save one) returning players? Last year we had a different O line every game and it was not effective…. This year we’ve had the same Oline every game and… guess what… still not effective. Is it talent? Coaching? Scheme?

Some of the sacks allowed are on sellers, some are due to coverage and some are on them Oline. The bigger issue to me, they get no push when run blocking. The Rb’s are getting hit at the line of scrimmage a lot.

Good points and we’ve heard for a long time that this is the year the OL turns the corner. The RBs have to set up the blocks better and Sellers certainly has to stop rolling out of a pocket to find sacks, but the OL needs to improve. Much of this looks like coaching more than talent to me on all accounts. Maybe we somehow manage to recruit players that cannot be coached and developed. Not sure what the issues are but this offense is painful to watch most of the time. Feels like the field is 200 yds long and up hill. Happy for the wins and we definitely let a couple get away. Loggains isn’t the answer and was a bad hire, which reflects on Beamer if this was his choice vs his best option at the time.

Yeah, it’s hard to know if sellers is holding on too long or are the plays slow to develop? It seems like both are probable. The internal clock in sellers head will get better but the long developing plays have got to go. 2 step drop 1 read and throw are about all the time sellers has. He’s a lot better out of the pocket making a play on the run than he is in the pocket. It seems like more designed rollouts would be beneficial.

Also, the dumb procedural penalties are killing drives. Going to need to play the best game yet to stay competitive with A&M. A slow start like old miss and were toast. I have no doubt the fans will show up loud and proud, keeping them loud is on down Low-gains’s shoulders.

I am hoping the OU win was the turnaround point for us and am looking forward to the Aggies' game.

We'll see for sure if there is any offensive improvement against A&M. Their defense is legit. Not who you would want to play if you were wanting to see offensive production.

Once again the OC has not been here 2 years but he certainly showed the ability to put up offense and play call last year when players are on the same page and in rhythm but that can leave a defense tired and on the field to long. He is learning to call plays not so aggressive because we have a dominant defense, I think the total effort of offensive minds are still feeling there way through a first year of controlled chaos that is college football.
I see a group of coaches working with each other, learning from each other and not making the same mistakes over and over but being led by a super talented RS FR that is also learning on the job... I see a group of super talented FR OL and some very experienced talented OL learning to play in front of Sellers with his weapons doing the same, building that trust for both the coaches and Sellers...
I saw a coach go in with a game plan to be aggressive and hit the brakes 4 minutes in because we all of a sudden had a 21 point lead, he learned early to play to win. He learned to not let a great play get killed by making an aggressive play that if it doesn't work it kills momentum or worse costs you points or field position. He learned that trying to be aggressive and cute to win can cost you, we have a defense that can play with anybody, so don't kill yourself or put players in a position to kill you. He learned there is a time and place for everything and maybe his talent can compete without gadgets, but you have to learn these things playing other teams.
I think these next 6 or 7... games will show you this group of coaches get it!
