I am far from a music afficianado...they could have put out big time records and I may have not heard of them...I learn so much form these trivia questions as it leads me to research things I know little about

If it makes you feel any better, I had a different idea for a trivia question and was researching it when I came across the answer to the question above ... I had never heard of them either, which is surprising given its members.

 
Well you have me stumped. I know Clapton has been in a bunch of different groups through the years. But can't think of this one.

You're close. You're thinking of Delaney & Bonnie and Friends, which is the other half of the equation - which Clapton left Blind Faith to tour with. So Clapton leaves BF, and Ginger Baker, Steve Winwood, Ric Grech, and a smattering of others from Traffic regroup to form ... Ginger Baker's Air Force.
