Twitter: Beamer staying at Oky through championship game?

Yes he will be there through champion game. I posted on that last night. Really no issues here. Most everything now is zoom. So should not be any problems.

I hear what you are saying, but IF he's going to interviewing for his staff, reaching out to recruits via Zoom, etc., why do it from Norman?

No issues except for time. This should not be a part time job, no matter where it's done from.

I agree...he should be in Columbia not Norman...I just don't get it...I mean if it were a lateral move that is one thing but he is now the head of our program!?  I appreciate his need to honor his contract to OU however is he really our head coach while working for another head coach?

DO you mean he will physically be in Oklahoma or that he won't be starting the job here (full time or exclusively) until next year?

Hard to pitch family and commitment then walk out on your old team before the season is over.

I can only assume he will be there, but working on his staff, etc.
Absolutely. Our season is over, exams start this week, and there is no face to face recruiting at this time so where he is physically located is irrelevant. They can do zoom meetings in oklahoma.

ALL, Yes it's true he will be in Oklahoma for the rest of the season , getting ready for the title game most all Coaches do that  I see no issues he can talk to anyone through zoom.  We have an part time team right now, why not?  Sometimes they play sometimes they don't.   GO COCKS!

I don't see anything wrong with him staying there and trying to win what they can. I would assume he is already working on new coaches and recruits at the same time. The man has been on winning teams 18 of his 21 years. He may be wanting to add one more championship. Either way, looking forward to seeing what he will bring to the table here.

I get the rationale about staying, but I also understand why many fans aren't pleased given the timing of the early signing day and the momentum built by getting to Columbia and hitting the ground running. Both sides have merits.

I'm not seeing the merit of treating the head coaching job like a part time gig for us. I get why Beamer and Oklahoma would benefit.

Agreed. It would be different if they were in the playoff, perhaps - but they are not and have no chance at it.

They are ranked #11 and have zero shot at the playoff.

getting ready for the title game
If it was the NATIONAL TITLE I would maybe have more sympathy - but it's the conference title ... ? They are not in the playoff hunt.
