Twitter: Beamer staying at Oky through championship game?

To me the fact that we are even having this conversation is not a good thing.

I think universities test players pretty poorly. This is certainly one of those ways. Players are expected to make four year commitments, but the University only makes a one year commitment to the students. I'm fine with players out coaches leaving.

Regarding social media bitching: no one can be shocked to find out that adults are selfish and put their desires for a winning team over what's best for others. I do agree that that mentality sucks though

He did, I am pretty sure he was upfront about it all the way around, he has a reputation as a straight shooter, and apparently Caslen is OK with it, so I am glad he is finishing out his commitment. 

Students are in exam week so better off to let them focus on exams, he can talk to his staff on the phone and there are no face to face recruiting visits right now so it seems like a good time to finish up one commitment and begin the next.

I'm not a fan of someone taking a vacation the first two weeks after the hire. It's usually a sign that I'm going to be fighting to keep them motivated in the job. That's just my personal experience

yeah now that I would agree with that it is moot b/c he was upfront about it...as for the current players...I agree 100%...I am more concerned about recruiting and the hole we are in will take 100% effort to get out of...and that means IMO not spending time drawing up game plans for OU's final games

Is working a 2 weeks notice considered a vacation? Especially if that 2 week notice is during a down time?

9 slots won't make or break the class IMO, and he can't do face to face so, his physical location is irrelevant.  Personally, I think he will be better served working the portal.

 
I don't recall a new head coach not moving immediately to his new team.  Did Kirby Smart stay with Alabama for the 2016 National Championship run? I seem to remember that he did not, and Pruitt took over. Alabama also lost it's Offensive Coordinator the previous year in the post season when he was hired away by Michigan, and they made Lane Kiffin the OC.

I get it if you're moving to a new assistant role or a coordinator role, but imo head coach is different.  If he was hired to be here, he should be here.

I don't think anyone that doesn't like beamer continuing to work for ou is talking about his physical location.

I think he should either be here physically or working to get here physically, as well as have 100% of his attention focused on this program, but the latter is the primary concern.  He's got coaches to hire and fire for starters.

What kind of recruit is going to commit while only knowing for certain who 1/10th of their coaching staff will be?
