Twitter: Beamer staying at Oky through championship game?

Would Chadwell or Napier been 100% committed sooner?

Probably not.
Why not?  I think coaches, especially head coaches are far more likely to start at their new role quickly than they are to stay for the post season in their old role.

What was the point of firing Muschamp mid-season?  I would've guessed we could've waited after the season and saved some $ on his buyout and still ended up with Beamer.

Let this sink in, our recruiting class is ranked 89th!  Only TCU is worse among P5 schools and we just went 2-8.  He needs to be on the job now and recruiting now.  We had 6-7 decommits and betting some of those could be brought back into the fold.

yup.  He needs to be here for the current recruiting class (as much as he can for the ones he wants to keep) as well as to keep current players from transferring.  He can DEFINITELY meet with current players face to face.

Maybe Beamer is just satisfied with being able to snag Sarah Fuller from Vandy on the transfer portal lol.

Sounds like in his presser he will have a ton of time to work on USC duties, so I am somewhat mollified about how much time he will have.

Could be he doesn't want to tick the Riley family off to possibly bring the younger Riley with him to Carolina.

Carolina fans have to whine about something.

Makes sense.  Board hasn't approver the contract yet.  Board meeting is scheduled for 8 days from now.

He sounds like he is working the phones like crazy already.  He said if in person visits were allowed he would be doing things much differently.  I trust that he wants to succeed as much as any of us want him to and he is also trying to show this team that he is going to be upfront and honest with them and he expects the same in return.  I think it will be alright.

From his press conference he said he spoke to the team yesterday about trust and loyalty and that it didn't feel right to sweep the rug out from under his other players after preaching about commitment. He also said the players understood and we're supportive. Hard to argue with that imo.

Carolina fans really just need to calm down, some help got here today this is going to be an good ride, they got the right man for the job he's not looking to build something and leave he is here for the long haul he will get it done sooner that people think.  I think Ray said it best they want to win now. Tha's all you can ask for to win now not 5 years down the road.

I think he should either be here physically or working to get here physically, as well as have 100% of his attention focused on this program, but the latter is the primary concern.  He's got coaches to hire and fire for starters.

What kind of recruit is going to commit while only knowing for certain who 1/10th of their coaching staff will be?
Yep

In their defense, I think it is way more about the looming signing day deadline than it is about two weeks in Norman ... I think it just makes some fans (me too) a little nervous. But I trust that Shane will be reaching out and working hard wherever he is.

Is he employed at USC? If he still has a job with Okie then he still has to go to work.

Yeah, not super concerned, but Carolina fans have to whine about something.
I think there is a good bit of this.

I personally have always offered to work a notice when turning in a resignation, and have always honored that commitment.  And apparently, both parties (U of O and USC) are good with the situation.  Apparently lead by example and commitment to players is only a desired trait when it benefits our fanbase.  Honor and leadership is great when it costs us nothing, but when it is the least bit inconvenient, than it becomes unimportant.

This is not an accurate representation of the legitimate concerns that were expressed.
