Or that you can't 100% commit to your new team. We're a week away from early signing period. Need 100% attn and all hands on deck.Hard to pitch family and commitment then walk out on your old team before the season is over.

If he's working on anything else, then that time could be used to do his job here better. That could be done on zoom, but not while working on a different task. What exactly is he doing that can't be done via zoom?
Exactly my point.Absolutely. Our season is over, exams start this week, and there is no face to face recruiting at this time so where he is physically located is irrelevant. They can do zoom meetings in oklahoma.
Does this mean you think the head coaching job can be completed without giving 100% of his effort?Exactly my point.
If I had to guess, I would speculate that most will wait until AFTER the signing period to avoid losing recruits? We'll see.It will be interesting to see how other schools handle this. VT, Tenn, Texas, Michigan - all could open up in the next week or two and wonder if the same scenario holds for whoever they hire.
Although likely not to happen for 4-6 weeks, there will be NFL jobs that open and the same group of college coaches will be mentioned - Riley, Mullen, Campbell, Franklin - and maybe Dabo. I wonder if the Texans job would be interesting with Deshaun there or the Jets who would draft TL is they get the first pick and if Dabo would get personnel.......
Devoting full attention to his new job. What exactly is he doing that can't be done via zoom?
Exactly - 100% of attention should be on the Gamecocks. Not 50% or 80% or whatever. You don't take a job at a new company and tell them that you will be splitting time between them and your old company.Does this mean you think the head coaching job can be completed without giving 100% of his effort?
honestly, it is not a question of where he lives as much as it is a question of where his heart is. You want your new coach to be fully invested in their job. If he lives in oklahoma and works exclusively for SC, I'm 100. If he lives in Cola and works some for Oklahoma but the rest for SC, then I'm against it.I understand what you are saying Feathered, but the optics are not good, IMO - look at the discussion happening here. You don't want that on the first day after the coach is hired.
he took a new job? it is not like he quit a la Spurrier...and if he is doing what he should for USC, how much is he giving to OU and vice versa...seems like someone working under a two week notice to me...is there really any mutual benefit? if they were playing for the national championship maybe I could see it but not for a conference championshipHard to pitch family and commitment then walk out on your old team before the season is over.
We would be better served for sure.he took a new job? it is not like he quit a la Spurrier...and if he is doing what he should for USC, how much is he giving to OU and vice versa...seems like someone working under a two week notice to me...is there really any mutual benefit? if they were playing for the national championship maybe I could see it but not for a conference championship
We would be better served for sure.
And OU probably as well. Let someone take over his spot that will be able to commit 100% to it.
Good points. I'm not sure if either party benefits from him continuing to work for OU.he took a new job? it is not like he quit a la Spurrier...and if he is doing what he should for USC, how much is he giving to OU and vice versa...seems like someone working under a two week notice to me...is there really any mutual benefit? if they were playing for the national championship maybe I could see it but not for a conference championship
very well said.he took a new job? it is not like he quit a la Spurrier...and if he is doing what he should for USC, how much is he giving to OU and vice versa...seems like someone working under a two week notice to me...is there really any mutual benefit? if they were playing for the national championship maybe I could see it but not for a conference championship

I mean, players opting out for the NFL is the same thing.he took a new job? it is not like he quit a la Spurrier...and if he is doing what he should for USC, how much is he giving to OU and vice versa...seems like someone working under a two week notice to me...is there really any mutual benefit? if they were playing for the national championship maybe I could see it but not for a conference championshi
He got fired before the NC I thought.First question; Is he on the payroll yet?
Secondly, Kiffin left Alabama 2 weeks before NT game, IIRC, and bolted for Fl. Atl and he was the OC for Bama. What on God's green earth is so important for Beamer to finish out the season with OU?
So you think sc has character flaws? They didn't honor their commitment to cwm after allI mean, players opting out for the NFL is the same thing.
Either it's ok or it's not ok.
Personally, I think it shows character and commitment to honoring agreements.
I think that some players certainly do.So you think sc has character flaws? They didn't honor their commitment to cwm after all
He also commited to South Carolina...no?I mean, players opting out for the NFL is the same thing.
Either it's ok or it's not ok.
Personally, I think it shows character and commitment to honoring agreements. Let the team focus on exams and Christmas and come back to a fresh start.
