What should our response be if Russia invades Ukraine?

Putin said all military aid to Ukraine needed to stop for there to be a permanent truce. Neither side really trusts the other now and they are just redeploying and building their weapons stores up.

I would like to be hopeful, but any truce will only will not last too long, just like what is happening in Gaza now. Trump had a great interview with Fox about the call with Putin, but even he acknowledged that "there are a lot of guns pointed at each other right now" and he was only going to get a little headway right now.

Germany has already called the call a flop and Russia has once again struck Ukraine with drones.



I personally think they will try to fight it out one last time when the weather over there improves.

The article says 250,000, just saying... you think it might have more to do with NATO/US putting bases, weapons closer to Russia and not his ego? You think it could be more complicated than one man's ego?

No I don’t think it was about NATO. If it was he would have attckaed a NaTO country. In fact the Ukraine war caused NATO to expand by admitting Finland and Sweden. So if it was, it backfired.

NATO was just one of several excuses the Russians used in their land grab. The invasion of Ukraine was just another phase of what already happened to the Crimea and the Donbas (little green men).

This is Russian mob style culture, where they just think they can take what they want.

Putin has no off-ramp. This is his own doing & Russia will never "win" this war at the rate of losses they are taking.

Yep, Russia has always been an aggressor nation. I believe they wanted to take over Ukraine before they entered NATO (whether they were ever going to or not) and made the decision to invade where the prevailing thought was that they'd take over Ukraine in 2-3 months.

Now 3 years later and casualties approaching 1 million they're still grinding away. I was hoping someone in Putin's inner circle would have taken him out by now.

So none of that land ever belonged to them and they agreed to terms to allow it to become independent, never in history? At a minimum the Russian people couldn't be convinced folks are encroaching on land they peacefully gave up for terms? It's one dudes ego, not a paper enemy that just wants to live how it wants to live without outside influence? If that many Russians are willing to be casualties for one man's ego, his propaganda is that strong, maybe you are right...
