I love the makeup of our team, the parts just fit. The 3 bigs with their various skills just work. Lamont got a question i think in the last presser on how Stute has handled coming off the bench and whats the decision that goes into that, and he responded that "he's a professional". Guys are...
that was a pathetic attempt by 55 of mizzou to get a technical or flagrant called. i mean cmon. zach made a couple of big 3's that helped win us the game. i wasnt too critical of him when he did it vs kentucky but he has to dial back some of the silly and unnecessary attempts at steals. hes...
maybe an adjustment double teaming the guard on the ball screen to force him to give it up. thats what we did on the last possession or two and their offense got out of sorts. good guys up 10 at the half. mack with 15, ugusuk with 8 off the bench.
today mizzou is relentlessly attacking the basket. up 9 but gotta do a better job of staying in front of them. the only point theyve created outside the paint is off a play where we fouled a jumpshooter
He had that learning experience vs the wolves but hes bounced back and shot the ball well in every other game. Theyre still bringing him along slowly off the bench and theyre not having him initiate offense. Youre seeing him attack the rim when its there and when given space hes been a...
he has the size and skill. its about developing and learning the team game on this level. whats the right play, whats a good shot, and playing with confidence. he's knocking down shots and showing good effort on defense based on the 6 combined steals/blocks the past two games. dont want to...
the run defense wasnt as bad as some felt in the aftermath of the loss when almost everything is a negative. there are certainly some things to clean up but after the 1st drive, the next 17 carries by a unc rb went for 46 yards. at that point we're down 14 and theyve been on the field a lot so...
its the next step, year 1 we werent competitive against the best teams. year 2 we got blown out by georgia, but by the end of the year we beat tennessee by 25 and beat clemson on the road. even in the bowl game while im disappointed we lost, with as much roster turnover as there was we...
the question is how much he has left in the tank. while he was able to bounce back after the microfracture surgery following his rookie year to be an incredibly disruptive pro bowl player youve gotta think itll shorten his career. his stats took a dive when he went to seattle but he was still...
really excited to see joyner at rb. ive looked at a few guys we've had in the past that never played there regularly that i thought would have been great there like newton, ellington, deebo obviously, with joyner being the latest. there is a little concern that maybe he bulked up a bit too...
doty has always been a great athlete. get your playmakers on the field and im a believer in the qb run game. spencer can be hit or miss as a runner and we need him to do that on occasion but i also like having that option of doty or sellers or even joyner taking some snaps to supplement your...
gonna have to see the team in action first but this team should at least be capable of competing every game. more scoring, more shooting, more playmaking, more length on the wings and the backcourt, and versatility that you didnt have last year. you bring in two veterans in clark and cooper...
aiken i think thats a terrible way for anyone to fill out their ballot. im not a believer in preseason polls anyway but why would you penalize someone for having a harder schedule. i understand a prognostication but that should be different than how you vote during a season. a lot of ppl have...
we definitely need at least one more back regardless but im really glad joyner is at rb. even beyond the numbers issue i think its a better position for him. the other thing i want to see is more of a run threat from the qb position. rattler is never going to be connor shaw but i want to see...
i dont look at it as the destruction of college football, it just destroyed any notion that it isnt the minor leagues, which it likely always has been. still it wont affect how i view the game as a fan. as a program going forward its just about is our coaching, recruiting, and culture good...
im expecting good things too. the rb's havent found much room this season and we're missing 4 out of our top 5 receiving targets, but i think we unlocked our secret to success and we still have enough talent to plug guys in and play well. a fully healthy cbs and juju can make up for the losses...
84 according to the gamecock central scholarship breakdown page.
https://go.gamecockcentral.com/on3/south-carolina-gamecocks-football-scholarship-breakdown
couple issues with that number is im not sure if both of the former walk-ons on that list officially count. the other issue is theyre...
without any insight my guess is this year didnt turn out the way he wanted mostly due to injuries and with him turning 23 before the draft he'd rather try and make it as an undrafted free agent this year than wait a year and be in the same position and a year older next year.
we could have got him to the nfl, now in the best possible draft position which as a rb you'd want considering the short shelf life that may be another story. i wanted to say he didnt read the room with his goodbye message, but he got more positive replies than i was expecting.
we'll see if...
from what i gather its probably more his uncle than anything though his mom certainly is passionate. coming off the high of the last 2 weeks and an expanded role, though mostly at rb, and deciding to go into the portal before the bowl game imo isnt just testing the waters, hes gone for good...
