Agree on Chadwell, he on top of my board as well. Not that Ray gives A.F.F. about my board, but still.Could be wrong but Chadwell would me my first pick then Beamer, maybe Napier it's all about the relationships in the southeast, need someone who does not have to look over his shoulder with Booster Club, and the Carolina Radio Show . The guy needs to run the program and limit time meeting big boosters . Just win and all the crying and tears will dry up . With that said go Trojans Friday night lights in Rock Hill again all we do is win state championships in Rock hill SC
Actually he's been waiting on you to call him up.Not that Ray gives A.F.F. about my board, but still.
I did not realize that. That might be huge and more important than being an OC/DC. If Caslen approves, so do I.....but having been an assistant HC at two schools.
How do you know he's learned anything? If he hasn't made any kind of decision, regarding football strategy, how do we know what he can do? I mean this going from someone that is unproven, to being the HC at a P5 program, our P5 program.I did not realize that. That might be huge and more important than being an OC/DC. If, whoever, can get good coordinators on both sides of the ball then I'm all in on whoever it is.I’ve wanted Napier, Freeze or Chadwell. But I am intrigued with Beamer, now. I know he hasn’t been a coordinator, but having been an assistant HC at two schools, I would think he has learned a lot about how to manage a program.
I would think, with his connections, he could get good coordinators, Garrett Riley’s name keeps coming up for OC, and we know he can recruit very well, and he has recruiting ties in many parts of the country. So, hopefully, if he is chosen, I think he’s got a shot of being a great coach.
None of us know. But if he was a dud, he'd never get an interview. There's something to this beyond our reservations. How do you know he's learned anything? But that clearly isn't enough. Our current OC & DC are likely better than a 2-5 or 4-8 team. The HC is still the point man.If, whoever, can get good coordinators on both sides of the ball then I'm all in on whoever it is.
According to research by Rivals, I think it was, we have the #21 amount of talent in the nation on our sidelines. And we are 2-6.But that clearly isn't enough. Our current OC & DC are likely better than a 2-5 or 4-8 team. The HC is still the point man.

That’s a fair question, but what do you want from a head coach? If you want someone who has been a coordinator, is well thought of in his field, and is technically sound, then Muschamp is your man, because he checks all of those boxes, but still failed. PJ Fleck, Sam Pittman, and Dabo all had never been a coordinator, but have been good head coaches. I laughed at Clemson when they hired Dabo because he had no head coach experience, had no coordinator experience, and is a doofus. But I was wrong, except for the doofus part, because he’s been a good coach. I can’t guarantee that Beamer will be a great head coach, but he is definitely more qualified than Dabo before he got hired. If he can hire the coordinators that are rumored, such as Garrett Riley, I will jump firmly on the Beamer train. How do you know he's learned anything? The taters had and probably still have the highest paid OC and DC in the country. That was before they won their first natty with Dabs a few years ago. That's always been Carolinas Achilles heel imo, not hiring top ranked coordinators for both sides of the ball. Our BOT always cheaps out when it's time pony up for those 2. A HC is only as good as his assistants. But that clearly isn't enough. Our current OC & DC are likely better than a 2-5 or 4-8 team. The HC is still the point man.

My sincerest apologies.Excuse me, sir. The correct vernacular is the Shane Train.
