that is awesome!I got picked for an antibody study by one of the big dialysis companies, so I'm gonna be tested every two weeks for the next two years. At least I'll know, I guess.

wow...cruises starting up as well? Are they trying to more covid patients off shore?Good for you, SAC! We are setting new records here in Florida. In spite of which Disney reopened this past weekend. Now we find that Carnival will begin sailings at the end of the month. All schools have been ordered to open with open classrooms. Governor removed all funding for online education from the budget. What could go wrong?

Now that would be a deal, since Fla hospitals are running out of ICU beds.Is it true that the Disney Fast Pass lets you skip the line to the ICU?
I think there is a lab or labs in FL that's incorrectly reporting 100% of all tests as positive.Good for you, SAC! We are setting new records here in Florida. this is the problem with these trials...how do you really know until you put someone's health at risk...I believe it was Moderna's ceo that I heard that said that they are trying to scale up to have 100 million doses by Dec 31 (under contract for FDA). He said that it is one thing to produce a vaccine that works but a totally different thing to be able to scale up the production and the vaccine remain the same...good stuff though overall!First Coronavirus Vaccine Tested in Humans Shows Early Promise

An experimental coronavirus vaccine made by the biotech company Moderna provoked a promising immune response against the virus and appeared safe in the first 45 people who received it, researchers reported on Tuesday in The New England Journal of Medicine.
Moderna’s vaccine, developed with researchers at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, was the first coronavirus vaccine to be tested in humans, and the company announced on Tuesday that large Phase 3 tests of it would begin on July 27, involving 30,000 people. Half of the participants will be a control group who will receive placebos.
This large clinical trial is expected to be completed by late October. But it’s not clear whether it will be possible to prove the vaccine is safe and effective by then. The trial will need to show that those who were vaccinated were significantly less likely to contract the virus than those who got a placebo. The fastest way to get results is to test the vaccine in a “hot spot” with many cases, and the study is looking for people at high risk because of their locations or circumstances.
I know that this may be beyond the purview of your study but I would be interested (if I were you) to know if you have active T-cells against the disease as well as or in lieu of antibodiesI got picked for an antibody study by one of the big dialysis companies, so I'm gonna be tested every two weeks for the next two years. Yeah - Phase 3 starts later this month with 30,000 people. that will provide a lot more data. And scaling up production prior to having approval is always a risk for pharma companies. No matter what the medication is. I have seen $300 million spent on brand new plants, in anticipation of getting approval, only for the phase 3 trial to go bust, and there is an empty plant sitting there. With this vaccine, it's even more important to have doses ready to go the day approval is granted.this is the problem with these trials...how do you really know until you put someone's health at risk...I believe it was Moderna's ceo that I heard that said that they are trying to scale up to have 100 million doses by Dec 31 (under contract for FDA). yeah...he was making the point that as you scale up vaccines there is some fear that the efficacy could waneYeah - Phase 3 starts later this month with 30,000 people. that will provide a lot more data. They didn't mention T-cells, just that it was 3,000 people nationwide and they would share the results. I'm not sure why I was picked. I've been and just signed up to be in other studies for a new drug that boost hemoglobin. The only question they asked me for this one was my living situation ( I live alone). The Covid antibody study is from the dialysis company and doesn't pay, the other ones are from the drug company and does.I know that this may be beyond the purview of your study but I would be interested (if I were you) to know if you have active T-cells against the disease as well as or in lieu of antibodies
interesting...regardless I think that these kinds of studies are invaluable and you are a good person to participate! I guess they will just draw a little from the dialysis machine? Eitherway, stay safe! They didn't mention T-cells, just that it was 3,000 people nationwide and they would share the results. I'm not sure why I was picked. I'm waiting on results from my daughter. She started getting a fever last Friday. Took her to get tested on Sat. Her fever has since broken, but she still does not feel 100%. They told us testing is backlogged about a week.2 cousins and 1 of their wives diagnosed.
