Corona virus, the non-asshole thread

I'm glad that this is my recovery week.  Vaccinated or not my little immunocompromised ass is not wanting to be around anyone anywhere right now
stay safe man...and definitely stay away from Tennessee...we are a COVID wasteland

one other thing...if you want a kickass mask holder...download an app called Bellus3D and you can have a mask holder made that is custom to your face...it will give you the file and then it can be printed on a 3d printer...it has allowed many level 1 masks to pass the fit tests associated wtih n95...I think I paid a dental lab like $20 for three of them...these holders go outside the mask and creates a good seal

that is a very sketchy definition and self seving at best

not surprised by this response one bit
You just want to argue, and I'm done. Endless, pointless dialogs with you about what makes something political or not is about as interesting to me as a hole in the head.

You can now download fake COVID vaccine cards.

It's almost like they should have made them on printer paper that the person who administers the vaccine fills out the day of.
The feds have been playing whack-a-mole shutting these people down on Ebay.

Becoming the new "fake ID" on some campuses.
When I grew up in Boston, your temporary drivers ID was printed out on printer paper and you had to wait for the plastic ID to get mailed out. It took about 0.000001 seconds for us to figure out how to scan it, adjust the birthday and print it back out. Fold the paper up a bunch get it dirty and everyone had their first fake ID.

Wake County School Board (Raleigh) voted unanimously to keep the masks required for all students, teachers and staff.  Glad to see common some common sense prevail here at least locally. My kids are ready to go back to in person school after a year of being stuck in the house.
Same with our county school system.

Another variant.  We live in a global society so I think this will continue to happen.  Hopefully the vaccines keep working and so far they seem to be working against the new mutant bastards.
There is a Lamda varient prevalent in Peru but that has been found in 30 countries (including here in Houston) that is proving to be more resistant to vaccines.

*not trying to argue anything with anybody

I wonder if this is what happens when you get the Lambda variant.  I thought we could all use a laugh.

Florida is the nation's petri dish right now ...
Hearing on social media/reddit that their hospitals are full, ER's are full, waiting rooms are full etc. People are going to start dying in the waiting areas because there is litterally nowhere to put anyone. It was like that last wave at my ER. Litterally intubating pts in the hall way because we had nowhere to put them.

As a side note, I'm putting my notice in this week, I'm not doing it again. Talked with my wife, already have a few offers and I'm just not going to do it again.

I don't blame you and thank you so much for all your service.  I can't imagine what this has been like for you and your family.  Thank you so much for all that have you done.  You are a true hero.

I'm really not a hero or anything like that, but thanks for the thoughts. I really was just doing a job I enjoy. If the admin would provide appropriate staff and pay I'd consider staying because I really enjoy it. I'm not risking my license taking 4 ICU pts at a time, plus a hall bed or 2 while travelers are making 2x as much.

Hate to hear that but I totally understand. The sad part is this current wave was largely preventable.

Are you taking one of these 'traveler' jobs?
