Corona virus, the non-asshole thread

Going someplace else, or doing the Traveling route.  My BIL did that for about 10 years, and made some pretty nice coin.
I'm going to a different system and moving to the OR.

There is a ton of great travel assignments right now, I've seen some offering $10+k/week. If I was single I would be all over them.

I know my wife would be ok with $10k/week and not having to see me!

So I went by Costco the other day. The TP aisle was totally cleaned out. SMDH - are we really doing this again? Didn't we learn last year?

Well - After successfully avoiding it for 18 months, I have contracted The Plague. Not sure how to be honest. We have been vigilant during this time (I would say way more than most families) and everyone in the family over 12 is vaxxed.

Started having cold symptoms yesterday, took a home test and it came up positive. My wife is not feeling great either. We are going to test the family today.  Kids made it through one week of school and now we need to keep them home...

This delta is no joke. Take care of yourselves people.

So does that mean you have to stay off the board until you test negative three times?

Just kidding...hope it's a mild impact, and the kids stay safe.  Keep us posted SA on how you're feeling.  Also, might be worth it to get retested from a clinic...just to eliminate the possibility of a false positive.

LOL I think the delta variant can't transmit over the internet. Maybe the next variant.

We are going to a test site today to do a PCR test for the whole family. Antigen (rapid) tests are less sensitive, so it's way more likely to get a false negative, than a false positive. We we are going to double check either way.

Sorry to hear. Speedy recovery to you and hopefully your family stays well.

Current weekly rolling caseload average in my county: 82 cases per week

Weekly rolling average of cases at the pandemic peak in January: 91 cases per week

Weekly rolling average this time last year: 5 cases per week

WOW, keep on top of this.  Be the squeaky wheel if necessary to get the best treatment.

Wow, I know someone else from Raleigh that got it after being vaccinated a little over a week ago. His wasn't a light case and he almost ended up in the hospital but he's getting better now. Sending good vibes y'all's way.

take care and I hope for a speedy recovery...keep us updated...if you find your kids are not impacted and you need some N95's let me know!  I have a ton that I purchased last year during the pandemic!  I pray that you have no long term issues and the same for your wife and children!  Have any of your kids had TB?

Thanks STS. Right now I have had cold like symptoms for 3 days, nothing worse at this time. Let's hope it stays that way. We had the entire family tested via PCR test yesterday. Everyone was negative except me. So that is good. Right now my main concern is not spreading it to the rest of the family.  Everyone is vaxxed  except my son, who is 10. (Of course I am vaccinated and still got it). I am isolating in the spare bedroom, sweating with the windows open. When I do go downstairs I double mask. Everyone masks up when they are in the house common areas (outside of their rooms).

Not sure what you mean by "have my kids had TB" - tuberculosis?

My wife went out today to try to find some N95's with no luck/ If you have a few to spare that would be awesome.
