A shocking amount of those were done in by Ukrainian drones. Ground wars as we know it will never be the same.
I can't help but visualize warrior clones per Star Wars down the road at some point. Some global power will try it at some point.
Yep, but drones are easy pickings for any decent fighter or helo pilot in a hot war.
Will AI be able to even the score and make the drones better weapons on the defensive side of things?
The IDF has proven to be more effective when using real pilots in jets over hostile territory. The Russian pilots are literally being wasted in ground attack roles against the UAF like the ME-262 pilots were on the Eastern Front in WW2 for Germany.
The effectiveness of the Patriot anti-missile systems in both wars has just blown me away (pun intended LOL).
Most of these are small and fly too low. They are like minature kamikazes with grenade type devices on them. There also are large ones that drop modified mortars on targets like a minatue bomber.

Clear as mud, but at least the wholesale violence seems to have slowed down a good bit. It's still bad but not on the scale it's been since the war started.
Not sure where you're getting your info, but the violence has not slowed down, but accelerated.
Russia has been hammering Kiev with missiles & drones daily. These are blatant terror strikes. Innocent people are dying.

Maybe it's more correct to say the violence has become so commonplace that the mainstream news media doesn't report it that much anymore.
It continues to happen because the NATO countries continue to let it happen without showing decisive leadership, but the other worry now is the UAF would try to take Moscow because the war has gone on for so long and they have gotten more confident in their military abilities.
The NATO countries establishing a no-fly zone and at the same time allowing Ukraine to establish a buffer zone inside certain parts of Russia would, in theory, bring peace. Zelensky has asked for a no-fly zone from the beginning of the war and it hasn't happened for one reason or another.
I do believe that the longer war goes on, the greater the risk of both Zelensky and Putin being overthrown. Trump now sees the reality before him that Putin doesn't want peace, but I think he will wait until the Euro nations put more skin in the game before doing something more than what is being done now.
That big quake had to have torn up eastern Russia pretty good. Does Russia have enough manpower now to assist in the recovery? Will that be the thing that finally tips the scales and brings peace? The moon is cheese; I don't know.
