I didn’t know anything about Arnett, but after reading about him, he seems like he would be a great hire.
I'll have more time to reply tomorrow could you explain what the phrase "true but disingenuous" means to you? To me, it means technically correct but intentionally misleading. We have two openings on the Defensive staff, one on the Offensive side. Two is more than one. Ergo, not disingenous.
Coaches that see South Carolina as a desired destination - typically because this is their home state or alma mater - are less likely to leave for a lateral job at a bigger school. That is true even if they are successful here. Continuity with a strong staff is key to success - again, see the stablity of the Clemson staff - and something that we have lacked. Our coaches were always "from off", as they say in Charleston, and not excited to be here.
Money is an incentive but so is quality of life - like what you have when you are close to friends and family, and a familiar place where you have enjoyed life in the past. I am not saying to scrimp on quality - but if you have two equal candidates, go with the guy that has ties to us.
The problem with Champ is that the players believed in him - and not in the school/teammates. That is why the secondary bailed. You just made a strong argument for recruiting in-state players - the ones that wanted to come here since they were kids, and would be loyal to the school.
sounds likely...interesting move for Bobo and Friend is non loss since he was never hereHmmm....not sure if true, but here it is:
Bobo and Friend gone per football scoop
So do I. For sure he has tons of support and connections. If Mike is gone, that clears some $$ to find a decent OC since Mike's pay was up there.I hope that Beamer has a good backup plan
exactly...while I hate to potentially lose Stockton I am ready for a totally new approach....I just want some friggin' offenseSo do I. For sure he has tons of support and connections. If Mike is gone, that clears some $$ to find a decent OC since Mike's pay was up there.
Tony makes a good point, but most disturbing about that blurb is Auburn trying to get Des Kitchings......that would be a big loss.People need to come in off the ledge. This article by Tony Morell sheds a little light on things. I do think we will come out of this thing better than we would have had we kept Bobo. I feel like Shane now gets to make the move he would have originally made. Time will tell.
I saw that in there and hope that is not the case, but we can survive if that does happen. Crazy that Auburn would target that much of one team's staff, especially a team that lost as bad as this team did last year.Tony makes a good point, but most disturbing about that blurb is Auburn trying to get Des Kitchings......that would be a big loss.
I could see Shane fighting over him.Des Kitchings would be a huge loss
