You got three of the five I was thinking of.Yardbirds -> Cream -> Derek and the Dominos
I know he's played in several more bands, but I'd consider those 3 to be the major bands, unless you count the solo albums.

I believe he was also in a band with Steve Winwood, but I think they only did one album, so don't know if that would count as a major band. You got three of the five I was thinking of.

You guys are both right ... what is “major” is a fair question, and the band FC alluded to is Blind Faith. Yes only one album but they are generally referred to as a “supergroup,” (winwood, Ginger Baker, and ton? Yes please) so yes I count them. The last of the five is John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers, maybe not a household name but one of the greatest blues bands of all time and the breeding ground for maybe the greatest string of guitar players in the history of modern music.I had to look up his history and the others are where I would question the semantics of what a major band is.

Alaska - Crosses over into the eastern hemisphere.what is the easternmost state in the USA?
I can only think of two large ones...holy roman and mongolian but I am sure there may have been others far earlier that were larger...great question...I love historyWhat is the largest contiguous empire the world has ever seen?
I believe it's the Mongol Empire. I think it was the largest until the British Empire hit its peak, but the BE was not contiguous.I can only think of two large ones...holy roman and mongolian but I am sure there may have been others far earlier that were larger...great question...I love history

Mongol is correct. Stretched from China / Korea all the way through Mid Asia, Middle east, to Eastern Europe at it's peak.I believe it's the Mongol Empire. I think it was the largest until the British Empire hit its peak, but the BE was not contiguous.
wow....that is huge! I was just thinking about AsiaMongol is correct. Stretched from China / Korea all the way through Mid Asia, Middle east, to Eastern Europe at it's peak.
Yes, I agree - the Golden Horde at its peak was enormous.Mongol is correct. Stretched from China / Korea all the way through Mid Asia, Middle east, to Eastern Europe at it's peak.
Was that the F4?What famous WW II fighter was nicknamed "The Ensign Eliminator" because it was so difficult for novice pilots to fly?
Got it first guess! The Vought F4U Corsair. The biggest propeller ever put on a fighter necessitated the gull wings and long landing gear, which combined with the HUGE engine made takeoffs and landings very very tricky. Was that the F4?
The reason I know that is because the book I am currently reading had a story in it which I read about over the weekend about female pilots flying this plane had fewer accidents than their male counterparts because as she (the story teller) told it the females would actually follow the flying instructions as relayed to them by the instructors and the manual. lol
I believe there is one of those on the Yorktown...like you mentioned the distance from the nose to the cockpit made landing very difficult on carriers
