I honestly don't know what the numbers are for Russian basic infantry troops.
Also, taking a look at the map, the Russians will be at a huge disadvantage if they were to be flanked and cut off at Mariupol.
I agree with their assessment. Seems a waste of an expensive weapon when they already have other cruise missiles that can do the same thing.

It's a bigger threat to naval targets like a carrier and now our intel has info on it. It may be another Russian blunder.

Yes it is. The Russians have been pounding several cities for weeks now. This shelling reduces the buildings to rubble. When the Russians enter these cities the rubble makes excellent cover for defenders. In warfare city fighting is considered the absolute worst. The Russians will sustain further heavy casualties when they enter these cities.
Total incompetence. A lot of those are 1 year conscripts with limited combat skills.
Yeah the average training in the Russian military is pretty poor. They have some well trained units but that seems to be the exception rather than the rule.
