The only time I hear about it up here is when Clemson fans mention it.  However, they are usually balls deep in a sheep while they are talking about it, so go figure.
and therein lies the rub....potential negative recruiting

If you were a parent of a DI talent, would a mistake someone made 10+ years ago be a deciding factor in who you hoped they would play for?

Also, learning from your mistakes can be a powerful positive recruiting tool.

I'd say this is about as impactful on recruiting as SC fans saying clemson fans have sex with sheep.

except one is proven so not exactly a great analogy...call it what you want but it happened...do I know if it will impact?  No, but I also would hate the potential problems it could cause...considering his current position it would appear that the risks are there or otherwise he would be back at the D1 level

please tell me that you understood the sheep sex was a joke. Just because there is fan shit talk does not mean that fan shit talk is the reason he is not coaching at the D1 level. There is most certainly a correlation, but it is not necessarily the cause. Personally, I'd rather someone younger and more innovative.

Guys: Mangus isn't coming here and isn't a factor. Arguing about why he got fired and if that is a reason to hire or not hire him now seems a moot point?

I've seen Travelle's name as well.  I have always liked him as a player and by all accounts he is a very sharp guy.
Certainly one of the best OL to ever play in the Garnet and Black, which would bring heft on the recruiting trail, I would think?

I don't disagree. Happy to stop if it bothers you. Mostly just passing the time and find it an interesting conversation.

I caught that it was a joke - not all Clemsonites have sex with sheep.

I do not think that any of the women do - and not all of the men either. Some prefer cows.

But we do need to let the Mangus idea go. Wharton and Big Byron are slam dunks - Jerideau made himself into a big-time presence on the D Line with his weight room work, he was strong as a horse.

Speaking of horses, I think that is also a sexual preference for Clemsonites - or whatever is "out standing" in their field on any given day.
lol

Wharton looks like a really good pick-up, with O-Line coaching experience in the NFL at both Carolina and Washington -- I think a good selling point to recruits that have NFL dreams.  I wasn't sure what Jerideau had been doing since he left SC, but apparently has been at UCheat as Asst Director of Sports Performance, so this may be his first crack at running his own program.  According to Vol's source, Jerideau is gone: https://www.si.com/college/tennessee/football/report-vols-lose-strength-coach-to-south-carolina

No, doesn't bother me at all. Carry on if you would like. I think the tangent started with the idea of GA being in the mix for a job and I just wanted to reinforce that nothing I have heard indicates that, as our OC will coach QBs.

Does anybody know how many GA's and analysts we can have? Bryson Allen-Williams is a GA under Sean Elliott at GSU - would love to bring him back into the fold, too ...

I know Ray gets a lot of heat from the fans, and often rightfully so - but CSB made a point of saying in the presser today that there was no way they could have gotten White without Ray's intervening and making resources available, so ... thanks Ray. Sounds like we won a bit of a bidding war for both White and Stepp.

Another common thread, after watching today's presser, that comes through with all these guys as more than lip service and which will do well around the kitchen table: care of, and for, the student athletes in their care. When Stepp and White say their units are part of their extended families, they mean it.
