Shane's staff: Let's fill in the blanks as we go

Another common thread, after watching today's presser, that comes through with all these guys as more than lip service and which will do well around the kitchen table: care of, and for, the student athletes in their care. When Stepp and White say their units are part of their extended families, they mean it.
I was really impressed with all three...was surprised at how likable Satterfield was...but Coach Stepp is absolutely next level...seriously...how could you possibly not want to play for that guy?

I cannot put into words how excited I am about a staff not full of retreads and former once was from some other SEC school or some old legend on the way out...Beamer has done a tremendous job so far here.

So glad Bobo is gone...Beamer seemed genuinely rub the wrong way about that entire situation yet filed that hole with nothing but good energy...finish with Gray and Wharton and the response is down right mythical

They just mentioned on the Early Game that Beamer has been leaning on Matt Rhule for advice.  I missed the pressers yesterday, but as a Panthers fan I have learned a good bit about Matt Rhule and what I have learned has been pretty impressive.   I consider Rhule to be a very good judge of coaching talent and if Shane is leaning on him for names, I am not at all surprised that we were caught off guard by the choices.

I am sure it is in this thread but what is the word on Kitchings...is he staying?

According to the Beamer presser...no one else is expected to go anywhere...Stepp even discussed how excited he was to be working with Des and Satterfield said something about being able to lean on him because of his past OC experience.

I get the concern here...Des Kitchings is one of the best recruiters/RB coaches anywhere in the country. He DOMINATED NC while he was with the Wolfpack.

Is it safe to call bs on the idea that we were waiting to hire coaches until after bowl games now or do we have to wait until no one from bama or ohio State joines us?

(I'm happy with who we've got. They all have potential and we'll see if it works out. I'm just noticing a pattern with csb messaging)

Matt Rhule is the common thread through a ton of our new coaches.

Did Beamer say that we were waiting?  I remember some of us speculating that this was the case and he may have said that as well, I just really don't remember.

absolutely....as a furman alum I like the tandem of Kitchings and Stepp (and Connor who was there for a second lol)...I graduated wtih Des and he was a pretty sharp guy as a student as well as good player for the Paladins...not surpised he is killing it and so glad he is a gamecock still

I'm nearly certain that he repeatedly said that there would be a delay because some of the coaches were still working.

Beamer was asked about Kitchings and basically said there are no guarantees but he expects him to stay- basically he wants him to succeed and if given a HC opportunity of course he would go. But otherwise he is in the fold.

My perception from the pressers is Rhule maybe told Shane it was okay to talk to Satterfield after Bobo did his thing.

The Furman connection is strong with this group!
