Coaching staff is now complete. Took a while, but it's done. 

Lindsey, Adkins contracts approved by BOT

Shane Beamer, head coach: 5-year, $2.75 million

Marcus Satterfield, quarterbacks/offensive coordinator: 2-year, $900,000

Greg Adkins, offensive line coach: 2-year, $550,000

Des Kitchings, running backs: 2-year, $420,000

Justin Stepp, wide receivers: 2-year, $460,000

Erik Kimrey, tight ends: 2-year, $200,000

Clayton White, defensive coordinator: 3-year, $900,000

Jimmy Lindsey, defensive line: 2-year, $350,000

Mike Peterson, outside linebackers: 2-year, $420,000

Torrian Gray, defensive backs: 3-year, $350,000 year one

Pete Lembo, AHC/special teams: 3-year, $450,000

Luke Day, strength and conditioning: 2-year, $400,000

I don't think anyone could have done much better with this group of hires considering the situation. 

There is only one questionable hire in the bunch. For now, looks like Shane has done well.

If there’s a hole, this is where it is, and this is a big deal. But I’m hoping that Coach Beamer knows something.

Well not every OC has to be a mastermind. I would not be surprised if Shane already has his playbook and between his other coaches, they can construct the offense. 

Regardless of who calls the play, the players still have to execute it and making the right calls at the LOS can be just as important as the play call.

I knew I would get hated on for this. And like I said, I hope Beamer knows something. But I think we do need a play calling mastermind. I’m optimistic. I’m excited to see what we have. But I’ve been a Gamecock fan for a long time.

Yea...that would be great, but we don't know the inside on this. 

I find it hard to equate that Shane did so well with his other coaches, but flubbed on the OC. His pick was deliberate. 

 
Fair enough. My theory: Shane wanted a guy who he trusted and who he could take input from and give input to as they build a hybrid offense that incorporates a ton of the concepts he has been learning at Oklahoma ... we'll see what they put together. I am sure of this: the first three and out we see and Satt will get ripped online by plenty of folks. Say what you want about Bobo but his resume speaks for himself - he is a quality playcaller and a quality OC. And not everything works each game for him or for anyone ... we need to give Satt that same benefit of the doubt IMO.

I wouldn’t call Jim’s stating a difference of opinion “hating” on you. He wasn’t rude or disrespectful.
I too, believe Coach Beamer’s OC pick was deliberate and well thought out. Within 24 hours of Bobo leaving, we had a new OC. It wasn’t just coincidence, Beamer had wanted him, but was going with Bobo to have some continuity, and save money. Beamer took his time compiling his staff. Every move appeared to be precisely planned, so I have no reason to think otherwise about the OC. Every one of these guys have been successful, and seem to be hungry to prove their abilities. They may fall flat on their faces, but I seriously doubt it.
