And we continue the trend of being hyperlocal and building from the state outwards. Good strategy and obviously, Coach White feels it's a great fit.The NFL coaching internships are a dang bonus.
Good get.

I see that as a good problem to have. Means they, and us have been successful. After looking at the most recent hires, I only see one negative. Some of these guys are going to leave because they will be offered promotions to coach elsewhere.
Which has happened here.....never.
My guess is this was input from DC White. If so, glad he got some input in his staff.Gamecocks tab new defensive line coach - Jimmy Lindsey

I don’t think Frank Beamer will ever have an “official” position at Carolina, but I think he will be available, as needed, to help out as Shane needs. I could see Foster as an analyst. I remember seeing, at the time of Beamer’s hire, that Ellis Johnson would be analyst. Did that happen? I never heard conclusively.I like getting Shaq Wilson - he may be from Jacksonville, but he has been a Gamecock for a long time - 5 years as a player and 5 years on staff.
I was thinking that he might be a guy groomed to take over the LBs if Peterson left in the future, but Shaq has not done much on-field coaching recently, just as a grad assistant in his first two years at South Carolina. More of off-field role, similar to Marcus and Connor. The last three years, he has been Assistant Director of Sports Performance at Tennessee.
This is a family move - Shane coached at SC for Shaq's first three years (2008-2010). Shane coached DBs and Special Teams and would have had a lot of interaction with Shaq.
The staff is looking more and more like a tight-knit group. Maybe bring in Bud Foster and Frank Beamer as consultants?
I remember that well.I think you are right on Frank Beamer - he does not need the money and he will help Shane for free. I was thinking of Ellis Johnson coming back for an earlier swan song at South Carolina when I mentioned Bud Foster - Ellis himself will do nicely also.
Ellis Johnson was LB Coach under Muschamp but it was not a good fit - maybe because Ellis Johnson was a better DC than the Head Coach, LOL. If Ellis is up for being an analyst, I am all fall it.
Side note - Ellis was DC at Auburn for one year. In the Iron Bowl, Ellis saw that Alabama was lining up for a long FG to win the game, and suggested putting one of his DBs back deep in case it came up short.
So Ellis is responsible for one of the greatest plays in Auburn history - the Kick Six.
As you should. Beamer runs a tight ship. :footballcockysmall:Have heard nothing.
