Jim...did we lose another coach?  I thought we had an OC but then again coaches seem to change as often as I change socks lol

Busted! I typed OC and not OL.

New OC possibility: Greg Adkins from Marshall. Lots of experience and also served as recruiting coordinator. Link is below.

If Greg Adkins is the new OL coach it would be hard to even quantify how much of an upgrade this is over Friend leaving for Auburn with Bobo.

It isn't even close...Greg Adkins is among the most well respected and liked OL coaches in the country.

On a side note...I don't know the exact numbers but it has been amazing to see how many guys Beamer has brought on that have been Recruiting Coordinators at some point in their careers and/or who were team captains during their playing years in college....Adkins is/was both...and I don't believe he is the only one.

This would be an outstanding hire!

Agree this would be a great hire.

Great hire - very excited about this staff. Now we just have to be patient enough to let them improve the team from the ground up.

Defensive line coach Ryan Nielsen is staying with the New Orleans Saints after getting a promotion to assistant head coach rather than becoming the defensive coordinator at LSU, sources told ESPN on Tuesday.

Nielsen has received a new three-year contract with the Saints and will replace Dan Campbell, who is expected to become head coach of the Detroit Lions, as the assistant head coach while continuing to coach the defensive line under Sean Payton, a source told ESPN.

Nielsen, who played under LSU coach Ed Orgeron and worked under Orgeron at Ole Miss, had emerged as the top candidate for the Tigers' defensive coordinator vacancy and both sides on Monday were working on a deal to finalize the hire, a source told ESPN.

Coach O still looking for a DC.  Sark finally found his.  Glad we have already gotten our staff buttoned up.

The Texas Longhorns are hiring Washington defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski for the same role on Steve Sarkisian's staff, sources confirmed to ESPN on Wednesday.

Kwiatkowski has been the Huskies' defensive coordinator since 2014 after joining the staff from Boise State along with head coach Chris Petersen. He did not overlap at Washington with Sarkisian, who led the program from 2009 to 2013.

Alabama coach Nick Saban is hiring former Jacksonville Jaguars and Buffalo Bills head coach Doug Marrone to be the Crimson Tide's new offensive line coach, sources told ESPN.

Marrone is set to join former Houston Texans head coach Bill O'Brien, who replaced Steve Sarkisian as Alabama's offensive coordinator. Marrone and O'Brien share a close relationship going back to their days working together on the Georgia Tech staff in the late 1990s.

In addition, Charlie Strong is leaving Alabama's staff as a defensive analyst to join Urban Meyer's full-time staff with the Jaguars as assistant head coach and linebackers coach. Strong was previously the head coach at Texas, Louisville and South Florida.

So, maybe Muschamp to LSU then?
