The Trivia Thread

Well let's just say it's not 50 Shades of Gray but it ain't exactly War and Peace either...

That would almost certainly give it away.
so it must be a big book for the author and most likely taught in schools to keep numbers high...so I'll guess two I had to read:

Don Quixote

Tale of Two Cities

Beyond that I have nothing lol...I mean is the Iliad a novel?

You had to read Cervantes?  I am impressed...now if you tell me you had to read it in the original Spanish...mind blown.  I also had to read Tale of Two Cities -- which I actually liked.  The best book assignment; however, was The Hobbit for 9th grade English.

I had to read the translated version at Furman in humanities (they combined western civ, English 11 and English 12 as an integrated class)...it was not easy at all for me to wade through!  I also had to read the Iliad at one point at Furman as well

Hobbit is a good answer as well!

Mine as well. I still remember the day my third-grade teacher Mr. Suggs read aloud the "The Bridge of Khazad-Dum" chapter of Fellowship of the Ring to our class. I was transfixed and transported ... just blown away by those books, and still am to this day.
