  1. Dak at Running Back

I'm really excited to see Joyner playing running back I think he will be great. He's been my favorite Gamecock since he stepped on campus. Of course he's an amazing athlete, but he is also an outstanding young man. His loyalty to South Carolina during this age of the transfer portal is amazing...
  2. Dak at Running Back

I was looking at a depth chart and I see they list Joyner as a running back. I like that idea. Obviously, he is most effective when running as the 2021 Belk Bowl showed us. As is always the case his success will depend on our offense line. Anyway, I really like this young man and hope he has a...
  3. Poll Gamecocks are Bowl bound. Which Bowl do you prefer Gator, Citrus or Reliaquest Bowl ?

Hah!! It's interesting how the times have changed. I vaguely remember going to the Citrus/Tangerine Bowl way back in the 1960. My dad's alma mater Presbyterian College played someone (I think it was Middle Tennessee). I also saw the Cocks play Miami in 1975. Jeff Grantz was our QB. It became the...
  4. OC choices

If that's true, then the players should support going with Kitchens. His resume is pretty impressive.
  5. OC choices

I think he might promote Freddie Kitchens who is now an analyst. That would keep some continuity and help retain and recruit players.
  6. GCF POLL OF THE WEEK: Ok Gamecocks won! Now, what happens to OC Satterfield stay or go?

I see Beamer is getting a new deal. I really hope Satterfield gets a raise too. Also, a good NIL deal for Rattler is a great idea. We need to keep this group together for next year. What is Juice Wells's status? Does he have another year?
  7. In your own words size up South Carolina's win over Clemson

This is a monumental win. Going into Memorial Stadium against a 10 and 1 team and winning is one for the ages. We had a pick six, a safety and an interception in their end zone. That's either twelve or sixteen points we gave them. This one was really special.
  8. GCF POLL OF THE WEEK: Ok Gamecocks won! Now, what happens to OC Satterfield stay or go?

Let's end this thread now. I'm way more concerned as to whether Rattler stays or goes.
  9. GCF's Poll of the week Next up Clemson simply put can the Gamecocks beat the Tigers?

It's going to be a challenge. Playing at Memorial Stadium always is. I expect a very different game from last night's contest. I think Clemson's defense is better than the Vols defense, but their offense isn't nearly as explosive as Hooker and company. Hopefully, Lloyd will play and be at full...
  10. OC choices

Maybe we need to re-think this "fire the OC" talk.
  11. OC choices

This "fire the coach, OC or DC" talk has been going on forever.. Now with social media and big contracts for coaches it's getting worse. We used to hardly ever see mid-season firings but now they're fairly common. This staff has only coached twenty two games. I think we should keep things as...
  12. Poll POLL OF THE WEEK: USC now is Bowl eligible next up at Florida can USC beat the Gators?

It all comes down to how we handle Richardson. He can be inconsistent in the passing game. However, he can beat you with his legs. If he plays well we'll have outscore them. Hopefully, Lloyd will play and we can keep the big guy off the field.
  13. Hoganman1

Comment by 'Hoganman1' in article 'Rattler, South Carolina beat Vanderbilt 38-27, bowl eligible with video, stats, box score and game notes'

Well, we've duplicated last years win total and are bowl eligible. Of the remaining games, I think Florida is a toss-up and Tennessee and Clemson are probably losses. However, it is college football and strange things can happen. I'm happy with the season so far except for the loss to Missouri...
  14. GCF Gameday Thread vs. Missouri Week 9 Talking

Looking forward to this game and as usual I'm cautiously optimistic. One comment I have is maybe another win will bring more respect for the Cocks. For instance, I just watched SEC NOW and our game got maybe five minutes of coverage. Part of that time was spent showing the announcers eating...
  15. GCF Discussion, Preview & Prediction Thread Week 3 Talking Georgia

No one thinks we can beat UGA. However, I'm hoping we can at least hang with them and the game isn't a blowout. Also, I hope no one gets injured. I look at this game as a chance to show future recruits that Coach Beamer is building a program they should consider. How we play even in a losing...
  16. The good, the bad, and the ugly as the Gamecocks fall to Arkansas

We had some moments but Arkansas beat us up front on both offense and defense. I think we'll get better as the season progresses. We've got Georgia, Kentucky, Florida, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Clemson left to play. We have to somehow upset one or two of those teams and take care of SC State...
  17. Poll GCF POLL OF THE WEEK: Which Gamecock had the best moves?

This was difficult. I voted for Deebo, but mainly on how he's playing for the 49ers. I'm old enough to have seen all these guys play. As far as how they played for the Cocks; I might give Lattimore the edge. My memory of Rodgers was he ran over people rather than around them.
  18. 12 Team Playoff starting in the 2026 season

Well, I see now the top four get byes. I like this. I think a big plus is we won't have as many top players sitting out of the bowl games.
  19. GAMEDAY THREAD VS. GEORGIA ST. Gameday information and more

Well, I don't have ESPN + or SEC + so I'll be listening old school on the radio. I'm in Charlotte so I hope the Rock Hill station comes through clearly.
  20. 12 Team Playoff starting in the 2026 season

I'm curious as tp how a 12 team playoff would work. Would the top four teams get a bye? Otherwise, it would go 12 to 6 and 6 to 3. The math doesn't work that way.
