All of this started with the UVA game. WM had all off-season to fix his mess from the 28-0, and came out and laid an egg.UNC: outcoached. Loss
Char So: inferior team, nothing learned Win
Bama: I thought we looked good, given the opponent. But still a loss.
Missouri: outcoached again, Loss
How can you say we will give GA a tough game? MO is much better. If you think MO is a top 10 D, then GA is a top 5 D.After the Bama game I checked out the Tide fan boards. They were pretty much saying S.C. would do some damage this year and that it’s clear Muschamp had upgraded the talent.
I still think it’s too early. I think we got out coached by UNC but would’ve still won easily had Bentley not had the worse game of his career. I think Missouri has a top 10 defense and we had an injured freshman QB. Remember we handed them 14pts. We’ve also seen what this team is capable of offensively which can be very good.
I think we will beat Kentucky pretty well and give GA a tough game. It wouldn’t surprise me if what Bama fans said turns out to be true and we salvage the rest of the season, although it’s too late to have a good season, but maybe on Ok season.
He does, but he has relied too heavily on internal promotions and not going out and getting the most qualified person for the job as we know.champ hires the coordinators, right?
Nothing about Missouri's defense showed me they are anywhere near top 10. Hilinski had a really off day and had guys open but just didn't execute. Kudos to Missouri though for blitzing like crazy and forcing us to throw... it's almost as if they exploited a weakness which our coaches know nothing of.After the Bama game I checked out the Tide fan boards. *** Florida game where we inexplicably squandered a 17 point lead in about 17 minutes of game time. All of this started with the UVA game. WM had all off-season to fix his mess from the 28-0, and came out and laid an egg.
I don't see how he can find a way to beat UK. Stoops is not going to give us the game.
Well statistically they are. Currently #6, at 231 yards per game. And they sure as heck looked a lot better than Bama did.Nothing about Missouri's defense showed me they are anywhere near top 10. Ranked #6 but have played teams with no pulse so far.Well statistically they are. Currently #6, at 231 yards per game. And they sure as heck looked a lot better than Bama did.
Florida was a poor coached game but where we started the current slide was AKRON. No score 2nd half. The slide has continued thru VA, NC, Ms.*** Florida game where we inexplicably squandered a 17 point lead in about 17 minutes of game time.
So it's his responsibility. I doubt that man would pass the buckHe does, but he has relied too heavily on internal promotions and not going out and getting the most qualified person for the job as we know.
We signed one of the best dl in the country and you can watch him disappear if you find the replay of this seasonI would also argue we need better OL and DL. When we beat the taters 5 years in a row, we beat them on the line of scrimmage those years.
...all the way back to the hiring date. The discussion of “when” the problem started keeps going further and further back. UVA then UF then Akron.
You are still "bitching and moaning" and have no answer. So now you are the "Speech Gestapo too"? You are a trip B & M!Please stop pretending like legitimate complaints are bitching and please stop acting like it takes six years to rebuild a program/evaluate a coach. Please start using spell check/reading your posts before saving it and please avoid the continued misuse of cliche phrases. One final request, please stop acting like you'll respect the critical evaluation of the coaching staff if offered alternative coaches. That was done by another poster over the weekend AND still here we are.
Sadly, with our staff, I do not know if there is any way to salvage the rest of the season. I am no where near being a CFB coach, but I see things from ours that a decent HS coach could beat. After the Bama game I checked out the Tide fan boards. They were pretty much saying S.C. would do some damage this year and that it’s clear Muschamp had upgraded the talent.

Black and mild! I like that Nick name. CoolYou are still "bitching and moaning" and have no answer. So now you are the "Speech Gestapo too"? You are a trip B & M!
You're referencing Pickens? We signed one of the best dl in the country and you can watch him disappear if you find the replay of this season
Yes, that is the magic trick I was referring toYou're referencing Pickens?
I dont disagree that QB play in losses has been bad and better in wins but isn’t that true for almost anyone? And we looked bad in other areas besides qb play in wins and losses so limited to QB play may be a bit short sightedSpork means well and brings a more critical view, which is good for debate. And he is a ray of sunshine compared to some from the old CockyTalk (cough, IronFan, cough).
What we have with UVA, UNC and now Mizzou is poor QB play. We had the same coaches on Offense - OC, QB coach - as for the Clemson, CSU and Alabama games, when we had good QB play and a strong Offense.
So the question is....are we getting out-coached in our losses or are our QBs getting outplayed? Sure, the O Line could have blocked better, the WRs could have done a better job of getting open, maybe we should have run more, we could have called better plays. But there were plenty of open throws that were missed in the three bad losses, just like they were hit in the three good offensive games.
And here is the deal. If you hit passes, it keeps drives alive, opens up the playbook, gives more room for runs. If the Offense is moving the ball, the Defense gets to stay on the sideline and rest, plus there are fewer possessions/chances to score.
Are we getting out-coached or do we simply need better/more consistent QB play? The answer determines whether we need to make changes or keep the status quo and allow Hilinski and Joyner (and Doty next year) to solve the QB issues as they get the needed experience.
