Evaluating Muschamp tenure at the helm so far

We beat UGA with solid defense.

I was hoping for the best, but you could kinda see the UT loss coming with the lack of offensive production the last three games.

The offense has really struggled. I don't see Bmac calling plays in 2020, if he is, it might be Muschamp's last season as a Gamecock Head Coach.

We could be considered underdogs for the remaining of our games. Vandy beat Mizzou earlier, App St beat UNC....

There's something very wrong with Carolina football right now.

I got sucked in and started to believe we turned a corner after the Kentucky and Georgia wins. Then this disaster of a game happens and I'm feeling like I did after the UNC loss. I feel that a change needs to happen, but Tanner is going to be hamstrung by that buyout, leaving us with at least another year of this.

Muschamp needs to sell his ice to the administration to open up the pocketbook for a top-notch OC for next year.  Otherwise next year will be his last.

Yes lot of us thought the Georgia win was the one needed to turn the corner. Like a sugar rush and high, Didn't last long. Beating a top 3 team in the nation to getting beat by a team with only 2 wins. Well the Gamecocks have only three wins themselves.  They kicked our butts in the 2nd half losing by 20 wow.

Sheesh what a crappy loss to a terrible Tennessee team. Each game is like tossing a fricking coin - and we're calling all the wrong sides.

It's hard to get invested in a team when you can't have any expectations whatsoever. Just all over the place. How is that even possible?

You have to ask where progress is being made and where the program is heading.  Most if not all our best players are gone after this year.  Who replaces them?  Next seasons team could be similar or worse.  Nothing about the recruiting class gives me much hope of real impact players.    Sorry to be so negative but there’s not much positive in the foreseeable future.

The worst part of this, is that we're wasting the talent we have been able to get. You keep running short passes over the middle, the WR's get killed by the linebackers and safeties. Every pass was into two to three defenders, who were crashing the receivers, and forcing the QB to throw rockets. It is the worst game plan I have ever seen. When you're predictable, you make the other guys look like geniuses. I was giving Muschamp the benefit of the doubt, and thinking it was B-MAC, but inow, not so sure.

Weak on defense, offense and breakdown on special teams, not one Carolina's better games. Hopefully we will improve in next couple of years.

I mean, they didn't dominate  UGA by any stretch, they held on long enough for a kicker (who never misses) to miss. It wasn't offensive or defensive domination by any stretch. Not sure how that is turning a corner. We came back the next week and lost to UF and then laid an egg against Tennessee.

“We have a great league, but our players have lost a lot of trust in our league,” Muschamp said

Good point.  Maybe a little too much focus on crying over bad calls this past week by the staff and AD.  I get it, the refs cost us points on both sides.  Maybe not the game but who knows.   Tanner and Champ making a huge public argument about it all accomplished zero.  They have no pull in the SEC and I’ll bet you they were both laughed at in the league office.   Nothing changes.

At that time it could have been a turn the corner but we all know the Gamecocks laid bunch of eggs and now back to square one, Failure turning the corner on him and staff. Georgia was a big win beating No. 3 at home is a feather in the cap.  Muschamp is here to stay for now like it or not he is here. What it is worth Time to change both Coordinators’ will he? Who knows!! My  :twocents:

Bigger question is whether it's champ or the coordinators. If it's the latter, let's hope for a change. If it's the former, we won't have to complain as much when people in our lives schedule things for fall Saturdays. Either way there's pluses. (Desperately trying to believe my own optimistic bs)
