Almost makes me wonder if he may be considering someone that was still coaching this week.   He seems to be about people fulfilling their commitments

According to legend, Torian Gray is the coach that's still coaching. He's expected to coach the DBs. As for why he would take a lateral move, the thinking is that UF will be doing a lot of firing on the defensive side of the ball.

^^THIS.

Things may break loose after this week's bowls are done, but the wait for a CFP-level coach would also be worth waiting until after the NC game if a candidate is on one of those teams IMHO.

We end with Mason and Gray and I...happily...start my own thread about how wrong I was about Shane Beamer

After watching Florida's DB's yesterday against OK, I'm not sure we would really want Gray. They looked worse than our DB group without a coach.

To be fair, they ran into the buzzsaw of maybe the hottest team in college football at a time when they were down quite a few players.

Let me help you out...YES...You absolutely really want Torrian Gray to come to South Carolina to coach our DB's...trust me on this one.

Basing your entire opinion on a single bowl game where Florida was down over 50 scholarship athletes instead of Gray's twenty year history of recruiting and coaching DB's into the NFL would be less than reasonable

Retaining Bobo has the same stench of failure that Maschump bringing in Roper
I think it was a great call. Comparing Bobo to Roper is apples to oranges to the highest possible degree.

UF's problems were not on the DBs - they could not stop OU's run game. Pitiful effort - but UF was down a lot of players, just like we were at the end of the year.

If Gray is the guy, I think that you will hear something this weekend.
It could also be that Gray already knows he's coming to us and his heart wasn't into coaching the game and/or his players think he's leaving, too.

Our points per game improved some while our record plummeted and Shi set out for a while. I'm fine with bobo for one more year unless there's any truth to him bring that at CSU. Would be nice to hear directly from the players of color on that team.
