Shane's staff: Let's fill in the blanks as we go

This is somewhat of a caretaker staff.  When you hire an established HC he brings a cohesive staff with him.  Not so when an assistant takes the reins.  SB is having to build from scratch.  That has necessitated keeping some people not likely to stay long term.    I am thinking that we will see a good bit of turnover across the next 2 seasons

I think that is very probable. I'm not sure what to think about the whole Bobo staying as OC situation.  Don't get me wrong, I think it will be fine. I think his offense with CSB injecting some of what Oklahoma did will be a good combination, I just wonder how much of Bobo staying was a case of not spending more money than absolutely necessary, since we had to pay Bobo anyway.

He sounds like a Stepp in the right direction.

BOT meeting confirmed for tomorrow with an agenda item of “approve new football coaches contracts” so I have to think all of them, including DC, are done.

That makes sense. I’m really ready to find out definitively who the coaches are.

We have assumed CSB would also fill a linebackers coach role too, splitting inside with a new guy and leaving outside LBs to holdover Mike Peterson. Not sure if that is still the plan.

From what I am seeing on Twitter, Razorback fans have nothing but great things to say about Stepp and upset he's leaving, although most are gracious enough to understand he's going home.  It's always a good sign when you hire away a coach and their fan base has nothing but good things to say.

Interesting that Mason is no longer on that list though ...
Neither is Steele.

Maybe Odom to LSU and either Steele or Mason to ARK and then whoever's left comes to us?

You have to respect the lack of leaks regarding Beamer's choices at this time.  It speaks to his professionalism.

I have to think we have a leg up in the Mason derby (assuming LSU still not involved) because of the division and because I’m sure we were in him early...fingers crossed because I think he would add instant defensive gravitas to the team and potential recruits/transfers.

The addition of Stepp from ARK almost makes me think we're getting Odom, though.

The moon is cheese, man, I don't know.
