I had the pleasure of meeting Cale when I lived in Hartsville. His brother-in-law lived a few doors from us and had pool parties during the summer, Cale was a real nice guy off the track, and he was Dale Earnhardt before Dale.
Curt Warner was a running back that was not highly recruited. He was a West Virginia kid that wanted to stay at home, but ended up at Penn St. Hope that Trae does well and has the success he has earned.
They were not playing well the first half. The refs were calling a "tight" game which negated the "in your face" defense usually played. Dawn was able to adjust to the game' officiating, and the ladies were able to bring home another victory. I would guess that Duke will also be a closer game...
B I agree, you can't have enough rbs
There was one years that we had 4 backs, and he fourth strung back ended up being the top rusher. A lot of things happen and you need a "god stable" of backs. When you have an in-state back with his stats you need to have a solid look and hopefully an offer.
Two things our coach told us: they can't complete a pass if there is nobody open, and no qb can complete a pass if he is on his back. It is up to our defense to keep him under control. He is good if you don't keep him from running when the receivers aren't open. You have to pressure without...
I think they stay in the ACC, the cost to leave is too large and they could remain the prominent team in their conference. The way it is now, they could have a real shot at being in the playoff more than if they had to compete in a real conference every year.
Two things come to mind. First, to quote Lombardi "Offense sells tickets, defense wins championships" The other is when one of the ladies on the half time show was asked if anyone could stay with the Gamecocks, she yes for 3 quarters, then the Gamecocks will pull away, so no, no one can stay...
Dawn has done a terrific job of building a great program. If you look at the bench, you see a bright future. I remember when Aja and Kiki were seniors wondering what the future would be, but Dawn had it covered with a great incoming group. I trust that the same will happen next year.
